1970s Sex Symbol Tournament Round 06 Set 1
« on: October 06, 2010, 10:58:09 PM »
{alt} {alt}
VALERIE LEON (Age: 36; 5'11" / 17th 2-3) vs JOANNA LUMLEY (Age: 33; 5'8" / 21st 1-4)
After easily knocking out Lesley-Ann Down, Valerie Leon is certain she can rip Joanna Lumley apart as well. Joanna bravely challenged Cybill Shepherd but eventually came off second best but thinks Valerie is slow and overrated and will be an easy target for a convincing pounding.

{alt} {alt}
SONIA BRAGA (Age: 29; 5'2" / 16th 2-3) vs JACQUELINE BISSET (Age: 35; 5'6.5" / 18th 2-3)
This could be one of the closest fights of the lot. Sonia's Latin temper hasn't done her too much favour whereas Jacqueline comes off a couple of victories which put her soft image aside for the time being. But will her run end at the hands of Sonia?

{alt} {alt}
CHRISTIE BRINKLEY (Age: 25; 5'9" / 1st 5-0) vs PAMELA TIFFIN (Age: 37; 5'7" / 29th 0-5)
On the contrary, Christie Brinkley threatens for the biggest beatdown of the entire round as Pamela Tiffin is more then likely to become a usless piece of human flesh once the overall leader finishes off her activity in this fight.

{alt} {alt}
CYBILL SHEPHERD (Age: 29; 5'8" / 6th 5-0) vs AGNETHA FALTSKOG (Age: 29; 5'7" / 22nd 1-4)
Agnetha Faltskog took Bo Derek all the way while Cybill Shepherd eaked out a close win against Joanna Lumley. The figthing record favours the American but the Swede is not rulling out an upset and looked more the ready to take the fight to Cybill.

{alt} {alt}
JULIE EGE (Age: 36; 5'5" / 32nd 0-5) vs MARTA KRISTEN (Age: 34; 5'4" / 13th 3-2)
Julie is still looking for some sort of breakthrough but Marta got better of the much tougher Susan Anton in the previous round and looks to keep the Norwegian winless once this fight is over. However not all of Julie's losses were one-sided and she thinks she can finally break the deadlock versus the sort-looking blonde.

{alt} {alt}
CATHERINE BACH (Age: 25; 5'8" / 4th 5-0) vs INGRID STEEGER (Age: 32; 5'2" / 19th 2-3)
Ingrid Steeger has exceeded the expectations thus far but Catherine Bach claims she's no Sonia Braga, "all mouth, no glory" and will rough the blonde up with no mercy.

{alt} {alt}
EDINA RONAY (Age: 35; 5'4" / 14th 3-2) vs SUSAN DENBERG (Age: 35; 5'7" / 5th 5-0)
Edina Ronay has won three fights on the spin but Susan Denberg thinks she's way tougher and will brutally beat the English blonde up. However Edina has cause few uspets already and isn't much bothered by the Austrian's perfect record.

{alt} {alt}
SUZY KENDALL (Age: 35; 5'4" / 27th 0-5) vs ANNI-FRID LYNGSTAD (Age: 34; 5'7" / 23rd 1-4)
Two not-so-successful fighters square off next. Both Suzy and Ann-Frid think this fight will be the start of a winning streak and won't hold back in trying to take that precious victory will all the tricks in the catfighting book available.

Many of my picks are in contrast to some large votes cast the other way. I can only state my opinion on the fighters.

Joanna Lumley knocks out Valerie Leon. I have to agree with the statement in the voting option. Valerie tries to go after Joanna’s hair but finds her fists and feet instead. The “Avengers” star is just too skilled for Valerie.

Jacqueline Bisset shows Sonia Braga that French women can fight. The two women have equal records. It seems Sonia’s biggest asset (besides her luscious body) is her Latin temper. Jacqueline has gained confidence after her wins and turns Sonia’s brash attacks against her.

Christie Brinkley has an easy time with. Pamela Tiffin. There is a reason Christie is 5:0 and Pamela is 0:5. Christie is athletic, strong and works out all the time to keep fit. Pamela is rather soft and will just be a punching bag for Christie. Christie will go along way in spite of her lack of brain power but will most likely lose to some of the smarter and just as strong women.

Agnetha Faltskog pulls and upset over Cybill Shepherd. Every round needs at least one good upset compared to the odds makers. Agnetha looks to be solid and physically match up well with Cybill. Cybill is used to overpowering her rivals and will be surprised by Agnetha’s strength. Agnetha will get Cybill down on her stomach where she can work her over and choke her unabated.

Marta Kristen wins a close fight with Julie Ege. Julie may be hungry for her fist win but she will be disappointed as Marta will steal a last second victory from her. Neither woman is the strongest around but Marta has the stronger legs. When they end up in a double headscissors Martha forces Julie to submit.

Catherine Bach romps over Ingrid Steeger. Catherine is just plan tough. Ingrid is just too sweet. Catherine wastes no time in rougher her up and showing her quickly who is boss. Catherine finishes Ingrid off with a Daisy Duke move. She uses Ingrid’s nylons to hog tie her and leave her naked.

Edina Ronay shows Susan Denberg no respect. Edina Ronay is unimpressed with Susan Denberg’s unbeaten record. The shorter Edina is able to outmaneuver the taller Austrian and gets her down. Edina eventually schoolgirl straddles her and then buries her face in her pussy.

Suzy Kendall out wrestles Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Another case where the more compact fighter has an advantage due to angular momentum and speed. The longer Anni-Frid is more flexible but Suzy just uses this to trap her in a jackknife pin with Anni-Frid’s knees punishing her own cheeks.

Mr friend barbosa has many enlightening points and we both agree on what we like in catfights. We often don't agree on who would win and why. His opinions are just as valid as mine.

Valerie Leon vs Joanna Lumley: Valerie is much taller but I think this makes her less agile. I am impressed by Joanna who did many of her own stunts on The Avengers. She is just a better fighter than Valerie and will find a way to win with better moves and more painful holds.

Sonia Braga vs Jacqueline Bisset: The short Sonia has that toughest that is sometimes evident in the smaller women who have to be tough or get beaten up. When you add that to her Latina temperment then I think she will just overwhelm Jacqueline with a whirlwind of activity. Jacqueline won't know what is coming or going except that she will be going down.

Pamela Tiffin vs Christie Brinkley: Christie is athletic, works on on resistance training machines, and even practices yoga for flexibility. I see none of these qualities in Pamela, at least not to the same degree. Pamela would have to be a ferocious catfighter to overcome Christine's physical advantages and she hasn't demonstrated these so far. An easy win for Christie.

Cybill Shepherd vs Agnetha Faltskog: Cybill has never been one to be concerned abut admitting her weight. As a model she was usually around 135 lbs which is heavy for her height. On Moonlighting she said she was 155 lbs. Don't know about her weight in the photo and I don't know about Agnetha's weight. She looks heavier than Cybill. But Cybill has that "fighting spirit" which is why she is currently 6-0. She will get a tough fight from Agnetha but will finally force her down with an armlock and then a full nelson.

Julie Edge vs Marta Kristen" This was a tough one to call and I actually flipped a coin that came up in Marta's favor. I don't see wither as a great fighter but Marta does seem to be the more athletic one to me. I see a long, hard, unskilled fight with Marta ending up holding Julie down until she has to submit.

Catherine Bach vs Ingrid Steeger: I  fell in love with Catherine's legs in that opening shot on The Dukes of Hazard where she shoves someone into a car. I can't go against legs like those. Would love to see them wrapped around Ingrid's head waist, and then forcing her legs out wide in a grapevine.

Edina Ronay vs Susan Denberg: Another toss up fight for me. I think the Austrian is just slightly tougher than the English woman and will prevail. Maybe Susan will get some lessons from Foxycombat and then it won't even be close.

Suzy Kendall vs Anni-Frid Lyngstad: In the last fight I went for the 5'7" sex bomb over the  5'4" one. This time I go the opposite way. This should be a close fight. The difference is that it will be the maiden win for Suzy and she will just keep fighting harder and longer, refusing to submit, until she gets Ann-Fried to submit.

This was the picture I was thinking about that always drove me wild. Sorry, it isn't a very clear picture from a video capture. But we got to see it every week as part of the opening credits.

Lots of great comments for this round which I'm very grateful for  :) Here's a brief rundown of Round 6:

Valerie Leon (34) vs Joanna Lumley (37)
Despite a slightly worse record, Joanna found her way to bounce back and knocked out Valerie Leon in a close fight much similar to most of the experts' opinion. This could well be a start of a rise up the rankings for the blonde and firmly get rid of the underachiever status.

Sonia Braga (33) vs Jacqueline Bisset (37)
Another close fight where Sonia Braga's Brazilian temper came undone against the old-fashioned European slugfest style of Jacqueline Bisset. It a fierce breast-mauling and face-slapping contest Sonia's strenght let her down and couldn't prevent the Englishwoman (Jacqueline is English despite a French sounding name  ;) ) of forcing her into submission.

Christie Brinkley (40) vs Pamela Tiffin (26)
Barbosa made a bold call of Christie losing for the first time but as it turned out Pamela got knocked off into the water and out of the fight by the overall leader instead. The margin of victory wasn't as big as might have been predicted as the blonde model probably took it easy with the soft Pamela and saved some energy for the more challenging rivals.

Cybill Shepherd (37) vs Agnetha Faltskog (31)
The experts were split on this one and despite a negative record Agnetha gave Cybill a good run for the money. After a lenghty back-and-forth rolling on the floor, Cybill managed to get the upper hand and use some strict wrestling techniques to pin the Swede into submission. Cybill remains undefeated but this fight was anything but a walk in the park for her.

Julie Ege (31) vs Marta Kristen (35)
Everyone picked this as a close fight and Julie looked confident of getting off the mark, but Marta's record proved no fake as she headlocked the Norwegian into submission after a lenghty fight. Julie is getting closer to her maiden win and has moved out of the last place thanks to votes difference but is still far from happy as she really thought Marta would go down here.

Catherine Bach (40)
vs Ingrid Steeger (29)
Neither of the pundits hesitated in a continuous winning streak for Catherine but Ingrid managed to avoid a serious trashing and only escaped this fight with a bloody nose. Catherine sure enough blasted the blonde rival straight from the start but the German accepted the challenge and traded a few blows herself. However this proved to no avail as the Daisy Duke thumped Ingrid on her curvy ass by giving her a bloody nose and winning by a TKO.

Edina Ronay (29) vs Susan Denberg (36)
Core strenght was the name of the game and despite Edina's fiery approach and willpower she just couldn't handle Susan's punches and got knocked out in the end. Realisticman seemed to have the most resembling view with mine on this fight.

Suzy Kendall (34) vs Anni-Frid Lyngstad (32)
Closest fight in this set fell the way of Suzy Kendall who therefore scored her maiden win of the competition. Three of the four experts predicted Suzy giving it all in what looked like her best chance for success in a while and Anni-Frid just unable to dominate the blonde model in a classic wrestling fight. As the redhead's strenght began to disappear, there was no coming back and the blonde rival just plain wore her out into a submission.
