When the barrel racers get too rambunctious at high school football games, the cheerleaders sometimes put them in their place. They don't like these women -- many of whom are visitors from another state who are their to compete in rodeo events, such as barrel racing and roping. Such is the case with Debbie Preston, a 31-year-old rodeo cowgirl from Texas and former NFL cheerleader for the Atlanta Falcons, who got into a shouting match with an 18-year-old cheerleader (Beth) in front of the girl's bathroom one Friday night during a game. It was a stupid move on the part of the cowgirl because the cheerleader was muscular, tough and looked like she could pound the woman into the ground. With the towering illuminated lights surrounding the field twinkling and the beats from the drums strumming the introduction of the fight song, a couple tough cheerleaders marched Debbie down to the Pit before the second half of the gamestarted, then the fight commenced.
The Pit is an area where the high school girls often take women, like biker chicks and cowgirls, to beat them. In fact, they say they're are numerous blood stains on the rusty fence links and poles, and even in the dirt -- blood from years ago that hasn't throughly been wiped up and still dots the grass. Whether the latter is true is for another day. For this particular and rather disturbing fight, Debbie was no exception as this cheerleader's adversary. With little in the area of fighting skills and being outweighed by 30 pounds -- and clad in her tightest jeans and blue halter top -- the cheerleader tore into the woman and started beating her down. The fight was quick and bloody and Debbie was soon reduced to a puddle of cowering, whimpering flesh and denim. She then got knocked out less than a minute later, sent to the ground with a thud, rolling over until she lay spread-eagled on her back.
The cheerleader laughed at the barrel racer as she walked over and stomped on her stomach. "You gotta 'bring it' when you're fighing a high school cheerleader, b*tch. Otherwise, you're going to get owned."
The crowd of girls cheered at that vituperation, though it came out relatively lame for the situation. A teacher latter came over and had the paramedics tend to her. And they sent her to the hosptal for a broken nose and contusions.
One witness said Beth knocked Debbie around like a car crash test dummy, and that the woman didn't even land a punch. I've depicted the scene with some ai art, which I've been getting into a lot more lately. This is just a snippet of a story designed to inform and warn cowgirls that they're often targets for this type of abuse at football games, for whatever reason. Perhaps it's a girl gang thing, because some of the cheerleaders are members of one or two gangs. And the gang girls train to be great fighters, which can overwhelm their adveraries.
It's also customary at these matches to steal something from a vanquished enemy. So, the cheerleader asked one of the girls for some sissors and she clipped some of the woman's hair off the side of her head. Some girl then handed her a small piece of paper so she could wrap the hair up and keep it as a a souvenir. And, now, every time she looks at it in her room at home, she laughs and remembers the time she beat some hapless barrel racer up.
