Should just voting decide polls?
« on: March 24, 2025, 04:21:20 PM »
I had set up a poll earlier today. It was to be between Amber Jade and Gabrielle White. The ladies agreed that the fight would decide the winner. People could vote and comment, but they wanted the winner to be decided between them. We did it this way because the ladies agreed in the fight deciding. I think if you just use the votes then why have the fighters post anything?  I am just curious how others feel about the voting as final determination?

If the voting decides the winner ALWAYS then why bother with the cyber, I mean what happens when there are two rivals and one is a great cyberfighter and the other is horrible, but the one that is horrible knows everyone on the site and gets all the votes!! The fighters should decide

I believe it is up to the ladies involved in the poll, in the members polls.  As a mere fan, I do vote, but lets face facts, I dont know the women or there capabilities.  If the women want to decide things between them, then that is up to them.  Make polls like that, but have the vote be about other things, maybe the finishing move, or a post fight stake youd like to see.  Not every woman wants to cyber in a poll though, so in those cases have the fans decide, (even though to often, they base it on looks).

1) Contestants, have fun posting against each other!
2) If poll voting makes it more fun, have a poll. If not, do a message board fight.
3) DO NOT take poll votes seriously or expect them to align with your view of how the fight went.

1, Sahara hits a lot of the key points.
2. the elephant in the room is this:

Several polls including the one between Amber and Gabrielle as poll fights between the same person. The reason they want the votes not to matter is so they can carry on beyond the poll time limit to stroke their ego and likely another body part. The same person used to use their 40 plus ids at the time to make their poll oddly all end as ties so they could run it back to infinity. when I told them to stop they didn't until I started purging those 40 plus ids.

After that I got threats and an effort to have me "removed" from the site for the sin of interfering with this big tit model hack. The same fellow posted on this thread as Izabella to continue the farce shadow puppetry. You know with all your ids one would think you could do polls for awhile and not grow stale. And you have some nerve acting indignant that people with multiple ids wreck polls.

17 ids that I can see at a glance. All of them voting. I saw the Izabella post and thought "if that is who I think it is, I post",  why do you ever fucking CARE which of your puppets people like more? You don't ever vary up your posting.

Again I would take that section away in a heartbeat and spare everyone a lot of grief. And to the hivemind, I suggest you zip it this time. I was nice to you once . Never again.

And on a note that needs to be mentioned, cyber fights are cooperative (or should be) Try doing one truly competitively and you need a referee. You should be trying to tell a story together.

And if I see a poll where "the votes don't count" I will likely move it elsewhere. People can show their support by posting. a Vote from the void means little. As far as why post anything for a poll fight see it like the election campaign. Maybe 50 percent will vote for someone no matter what they promise or how well they debate. But some people (maybe less and less in real life) want to actually decide between people. Or decide if it even worth voting.

I've been in several poll fights here over the many years I have been a member on FCF.I participate for the fun of it.If you who participate think it's anything more than a popularity contest, for the most part, you'll learn otherwise pretty quickly.

I won't do a poll fight unless my opponent agrees to actually write a match story with me on it.   If it is just a popularity contest, then fuck it, not doing it.

I used to enjoy poll fights, but as the novelty wore off, and I became more and more aware of how rigged some people make it, I have phased them out.  The really short responses and effort to gain voters by posting pictures seems really tacky. I did really enjoy the polls with thoughtful back and forth (if insulting someone's tits is considered that) and that built some sort of storyline.  The votes, if the poll turns out well, provide a guideline as to how the participants play out the ending. It provides some spice.  I concur with several, that a well done message board, with people chiming in and commenting , is a great substitute.  What is interesting, is that Wicked (Dawne) and I had several poll fights, me winning or tying in all of them, but every message board fight I had with was a loss.  They were all intense, and lots of fun.

I guess my answer will be contrary to what most believe.  To me if it's a poll match then the votes should decide.  That is what I believe the definition of a poll match to be.  If the two involved in the match want to decide among themselves there is a cyber match section here I believe or they could pm among themselves.   I agree poll matches can be popularity contests, but the two involved should consider that before agreeing to such a match.  In the few instances where there is a mixed poll match 90 percent of the time the majority of the votes go to the females.  I know a number of ladies here have some sort of martial arts training irl and could probably take care of themselves against an average guy, but the gals in the mixed polls don't seem to have that qualification for the most part, and their opponents are usually not older overweight guys.  There's one guy in particular here who actually has "guy" in his name who seems to participate in mixed matches more than other guys and who would probably win most matches but the polls generally have him getting the daylights beaten out of him.  He and his opponents I believe do a great job on their discourse following the flow of the voting.  I think for the most part men and women both prefer to see the female defeat the male, so votes generally go in that direction.  The same is true when only females are involved; one is going to be more popular than the other.  I used to vote often in the polls and occasionally commented, but now I only vote ever so often and never comment.  Most polls I don't even read because of the language involved. So to me if someone doesn't want votes to decide the outcome maybe a private match is a better option.

Also i do find it quite the asshole move to post a poll where votes means nothing as ad for a fight between  the one man poll fight after I said those 'polls' would be removed. I guess you share the hivemind's view that you are above admin rules.

Enjoy your vacation from the site RowdyOldMan. Anyone trying to pull the poll fight where votes don't matter might want to run it by an admin first. And if the fight is off site not sure why this sites voting system should even be involved.
