The two wrestlers continued their skirmish all over the canvas with no advantage seen by either, when the inevitable occurred. On one lucky roll, Trish was finally able to get both of her powerful thighs around Cyndi’s waist, as her opponent was gaining the top position. All movement stopped suddenly, as Trish tightened the grip on her opponent. Cyndi’s face immediately showed how much force was being applied to her sides, as she let out a loud groan. Trish snapped the hold on again, causing her opponent to grit her teeth and let out yet another gasp and wail. Cyndi tried to move backward and away from the hold, but her rival had it applied well. “Give it up”, gasped Trish, “Or I’ll break your ribs”. “You’ll have to before I’ll submit”, answered Cyndi. “Have it your way”, said Trish and, with that, she sent another burst of power into her thighs. “Ohhhhhhhh”, yelled Cyndi, who felt as if she were being constricted by a python. The battle continued all out between the two wrestlers with no submission. Trish brought her elbows back and leaned on them in order to gain better leverage, as she sent another surge of power into Cyndi.
Maybe a submission did cross her mind at some point, but Cyndi decided to try and use the hold to her advantage. Suffering through great pain, Cyndi suddenly moved forward and pushed Trish on the chest, making her fall onto her back again. Cyndi then leaned forward and placed both of her hands on her opponent’s shoulders and pressed down with her body weight, pinning them both to the canvas. Seeing Trsh’s position, the ref began to count. One............., but Trish saved herself by squeezing and pushing forward with her legs against Cyndi, allowing one of her shoulders to some off of the canvas. “Shit”, yelled Cyndi, as she moved to her knees and slammed Trish’s shoulders down a second time. But Trish reversed the move a second time as well, even before the count had started. This match was a perfect back and forth between the two girls, but Trish still had the scissors applied to Cyndi. By this time, Cyndi was finding it hard to get a full breath, as every time she would inhale, Trish would squeeze the breath back out of her.
Cyndi fought against her rival’s hold for several minutes with no let up, actually gaining some respect from Trish, as no one had ever been able to hang on this long when she applied it. Cyndi began thinking in defensive mode. She needed a way out, or she feared that Trish would win the match. The break came quick as Cyndi raised her left arm and brought her elbow down hard against Trish’s right thigh. The same one that she had caused pain to earlier in the match. Trish howled in pain as the elbow slammed against her leg, but she tried again to squeeze her opponent into submission. And again, Cyndi drove her elbow into Trish’s injured leg and second, and third time. Trish was in too much pain to keep the scissors applied and finally had to release her opponent. Fearing that Cyndi would try to dive onto her, Trish used her strong legs to kick her opponent away from her. Cyndi’s body flew about 5 feet backward, as she landed on her back. Cyndi immediately grabbed for the ropes and exited the ring to stay away from Trish and recover. Trish rubbed her right leg as she watched her opponent on her knees out of the concrete floor. Cyndi had both arms holding her ribs as she recovered from the tremendous pain she had received in that hold.
Both girls took quite a while recovering from the punishment they had both received at the hands of each other, but they both vowed to win this match in the end. After what seemed like hours, Cyndi was able to get to het feet and began shaking off the pain in her sides. Trish was also on her feet in the ring, bending and shaking the pain out of her leg. Cyndi decided to re-enter the ring to finish this battle but, as she tried to get onto the ring apron, Trish came and kicked at her. Cyndi jumped back to the floor, narrowly missing the kick from her opponent. Again, Cyndi tried to climb back in, only to have Trish rush her again. Cyndi looked at the ref and yelled, “get her back so I can get back in there”. But the official told Cyndi that this match was no disqualification, and there was nothing he could do. Cyndi waved off the official and walked around the outside of the ring, glaring at Trish as she did. Cyndi then moved forward as if she was going to try and climb back in and, as expected, Trish came rushing forward again. Cyndi jumped off of the apron just as Trish arrived at the ropes, and she grabbed both of her ankles and pulled. Trish lost her balance and fell on her back, as Cyndi dragged her out of the ring and under the bottom rope. Once out of the ring, Cyndi bent Trish backward over the apron and sent a vicious chop across her chest again. Sweat flew off of Trish as the slap resounded throughout the arena.
Cyndi wasn’t finished, however, and sent a second chop in to her victim’s chest with the same result. What had started out as a wrestling match, was suddenly growing into a pier six brawl. Cyndi brought her arm back for a third chop, but Trish moved forward and blocked the blow with her arms and sent a punch of her own into the left side of Cyndi’s face. Cyndi’s whole body spun around and she staggered back toward the steel ring barrier. Trish, sensing that she had Cyndi on the ropes, moved forward to punch her again, but Cyndi was fuming, and sent a punch of her own into Trish, knocking her backward toward the apron again. For the next 5 minutes or longer, the two wrestlers stood at ringside, trading punches and kicks to each other, occasionally scoring a good blow and making her opponent’s eyes roll backward and get glassy. The official stood by and watched as the two women continued to punish each other, as if they were involved in a barroom brawl. Still, as they fought, there was no advantage gained by either woman as bodies were hurled against the steel ring barrier and heads were slammed into the ring apron. Whenever one would start to see herself gaining momentum in the fight, the other would always come back and even it out again. Both women were extremely frustrated in the fact that they were unable to best the other, but they both continued to try. It was amazing that neither of the brawlers had drawn blood from the other, as vicious as they had been to one another.
Although both women tried with every ounce of strength they could muster, the match seemed like it was near impossible to win. But end it did, although it wasn’t due to anything the women had tried. Trish tackled Cyndi into the ring apron and the two clinched weakly, as the ending bell finally rang. The match that both girls had tried so hard to win, had ended in a draw. At first, so intently as they clung on to each other, the women had not heard the bell ring. It actually took the referee to advise them that the match had ended with the final bell. Both wrestlers slowly untied from each other and began to move away. Cyndi leaned against the ring apron, almost gasping for breath, as Trish walked a short distance away and also sat on the ring steps to compose herself.
Neither of these fine wrestlers had anything to be negative about. Yes, they had given everything they had in and out of the ring to gain victory, but they had also gained a tremendous amount of respect for each other, as they were truly equals. While the girls rested, the commentator made the announcement that summed it all up, as “This match had ended in a draw”.
Trish finally got to her feet and walked over to Cyndi, who was still leaning against the apron. Cyndi also stood, and Trish placed both of her hands on her shoulders, congratulating her on a great match. Cyndi congratulated Trish also, and the two women embraced. They received a standing ovation as they walked, side by side, back to their respecting dressing rooms for some well needed rest.
Fans questioned whether or not these two would ever meet again in another bout for supremacy, but the commission has not received a request for a rematch from either wrestler. Perhaps both women have realized that they had truly met their match in this encounter, but only time will tell................
