If I had to sum up my reaction in a word it would be, "wow." This is certainly
one of the most engaging, titillating and sincere wrestling videos I have ever
seen. First, from a technical perspective, I found the production to be
intuitive and compelling. I liked that the video allowed the women to be
themselves in what is obviously a comfortable environment. I also liked that
they were given the chance to explain their answers at some length without
interruption. I had no idea what to expect from them, and obviously all are
bright, funny and well spoken. I appreciated the camera movements, too...not
just focusing on the interviewee, but catching the reactions of the other girls
who were watching so intently.
On the substantive side, one of my first impressions was an odd mixture of
understanding, camaraderie, relief and excitement. When I heard each woman try
to describe why it is they find wrestling a turn on, I knew *exactly* what they
were trying to convey, and exactly how they were falling somewhat short of the
full mark. That's because I have tried for 30 years to figure out exactly what
it is about wrestling that is a turn on for me, and I can't do more than
describe it in generalities or near misses. So it's comforting not only knowing
that beautiful women get turned on when they wrestle, but that they can't get
much closer to the essential "why" wrestling is a turn on than me.
Now, the matches...fantastic. As interspersed with the interviews, the action
in the matches takes on heightened meaning, as the viewer recalls what each
woman might have said or now be thinking. Of course I would need to be a poet
to describe each beautiful woman adequately. Suffice to say that each conveys
as a wrestling goddess. Something that stuck with me particularly is the
reiteration that the matches are not scripted...so when there are collisions and
tumbles and physical interactions of all types, they seem more immediate and
real. That reality is so fundamental to the product, and I think it underpins
much of the erotic...even the women don't know exactly what is going to happen
next.
Finally, my prediction, or perhaps better put, my observation. Now that the
genie is out of the bottle, so to speak, I'll be interested to see if your
audience, and your wrestlers, will want you to push further into wrestling
erotica. Tasteful and understated always, but there must be a point when the
direction of the matches will have to evolve to sustain everyone's
interest...what will that be? How will you handle that? Interesting
questions...
