Marie Avgeropolous was watching one of her first breaks on the TVshow Human Target. She looked at her scenes from the show most of which Janet Montgomery was there and something hit her and she grabbed her phone.
'Hey Janet'
'Marie, I've been thinking about you.'
'How so'
'Your awesome fight with Annet was my favourite fight to watch, what's going on'
'Thinking about when we met on Human Target'
'I miss that show, we had fun'
'Do you think they wanted us to fight. '
A few minutes later Janet replied 'Oh god they did now that you mention. I never thought about it until now after my stunt tackling someone they asked. Imagine if you hit Marie like that.'
'When we were wrapping there was a hockey game on and someone said You Canadians love fighting, surprised you haven't hauled Janet's shirt over her head and uppercutted her unconscious'
'Wow, so yeah. What are you thinking'
'What I'd do, what you'd do'
'We'd have a great fight, I know this after watching you beat Annet I thought how great a battle we'd have'
'Yeah after your fight with Allison I wished it was you I was fighting vs Kaley. You come to fight every fight and I think we'd be awesome against each other.'
'So we thought about fighting the other, our mutual castmates have thought about us fighting each other'
'So here in Canada on my set or in Louisiana at your set.'
'It isn't right for me to keep fighting in front of others chum's, we have a perfect fighting area'
'Before I book this ticket, I don't hate you, I don't want a feud I just want one fight. One winner and we don’t fight again unless it's some kind of tournament'
'Agreed, we fight, find out who wins. I doubt a fight ends with one being truly better than the other just ends with a win."
A day later Marie was in Louisiana, Janet picked her up at the airport and brought her to a motel. "Thought we were fighting on your set."
Janet looked at Marie who looked back "You just flew in, get some rest. We fight when you are rested and ready."
The next day, Marie got to the set and looked at the main area and nodded it was a good area to fight in. She went to Janet's trailer and sat down. "I watched your show so that stocks is where they branded people... Prison down below it, nice big area for us to battle in."
"Yes, I looked at that as the best place. Others can surround it but not enter."
"Shall we go?"
"Lets” Neither was overly confident or nervous. Both confident in their abilities in a fight and the capability to withstand what the other can do.
They left the trailer and to their surprise it wasn't just Janet's cast there to watch but Marie's flew down as well.
They were cheered on and got into the set piece. Marie took off her sneakers and shirt and stretched. Janet was on the other end by a set of stairs behind her was the pillory. She saw Marie taking off her sneakers and shirt. She looked at motioned for Marie to turn both smiled as former cast mates from Human Target where there to watch as well
One woman had to win and being honest with themselves they weren't fully confident that they could put the other down. Marie had on a pair of socks, jeans and her bra. A strong yet slim body very similar to her own. She sat down on the planks where the pillory was and looked over at that. She envisioned Rose Leslie trapped in it and her leaving Rose a bloody mess and not stopping but she shook her head. No use thinking about Rose when in fact Marie was a significantly greater challenge.
Sneakers off she unbuttoned her top and gave it to Ashley Madekewe “You sure about this?” Ashley asked
“Not even a little but I think this is a challenge I’d never live with myself if I turned it down.”
On the other side Marie had given her shirt to Lindsey Morgan who since the tournament she had made friends with. They no longer wanted to fight each other, Marie realized a feud with a castmate made no sense. “So this is you know a real big challenge.”
“It is, we talked and we both want this. I think it’s the biggest challenge I can take on and talking to her she feels the same.”
“Try to scare her a little, get an advantage.” Marie looked at Lindsey whose eyes were looking at something”
“I’m not doing that… I’m not offering that.” Marie said and stepped back put her head down and took a deep breath. She quickly spun around as did Janet and they were ten feet away from each other the tension building.
“What were you looking at?” Janet asked as she started to walk around the pit, keeping her eyes on Marie.
Marie walking in the opposite direction “the Pillory.” It was said and both stopped circling and stepped into the middle and stood a foot apart. They both looked up at it then back at each other.
“Deal.” Janet said and Marie smiled then realized Janet wasn’t afraid neither was she and realized why.
She pushed Janet and Janet pushed her back. The fear of fighting the other was replaced with the time to fight the other.
Fists went up and to those who watched WBACCF they knew this was Janet’s forte but wild cat fighting was Maries. They circled awaiting an opening and Janet threw a jab that Marie blocked. Circled again and Marie threw a jab which was dodged and another jab which was blocked. Janet tried to counter with a right but Marie slipped underneath and went for a punch but Janet had already left the area
Marie saw a twitch in Janet’s left hand and thought maybe Janet was about to go for a jab. She was but Marie fired first and hit and it backed Janet up. Janet didn’t go too far back she stepped up and went for another jab but again Marie’s hit first. Marie hit three more jabs before circling away from Janet. She could tell she just earned the respect of everyone there for her ability to box.
“Interesting, you didn’t show that with Annet.”
