Just having a karate teacher as a mother and practicing it as a child/young teen does not mean you actually know how to fight. The most ridiculous thing is that I've seen Emma described as a "karate expert". There is no proof that I've been able to find, that she has practiced since joining the Spice Girls in the 90s. Unlike Mel C, Mel B and Geri who have all at some point been fit and shown muscles Emma has always appeared soft.
