Kiosk Kats
« on: July 05, 2021, 07:20:55 PM »
First, a word of warning:
This is the first thing I've written so I'm not sure if it's even readable (or worth to be read), any criticism or comments is welcome.
And another thing, this is part 1 and 100% build up so there's no actual "action", but I might get to that in the next part if there is any interest. Anyway, here we go:

* * * * * *

When Candi got the job at the mini cupcake kiosk at the big mall, she saw it as a total win. Not only had she beaten out the other girls vying for the spot, she'd landed a cushy job where she got to sit around the mall all day (something that she probably would have done anyway) and get paid for it. Besides, she was more that certain that she'd be selling those mini cupcakes like hotcakes not because of the stellar quality of the baked goods but the stellar quality of her body. Candi was, at least if you asked her, a very clever young woman who knew how to leverage her body to her advantage. A flick of her blonde hair here, an arch of her slender back there and a inconspicuous lean forward to showcase a stunning cleavage all turned the heads of most red\blooded males and more than a fair share of women too. If Candi saw herself as a cunning manipulator of simple men, most people saw her as something else: a bimbo. The blonde hair, the large chest narrow waist and curvy hips were a dead give-away o most people before she opened her pouty lips and proved their suspicions right. The first week as a stunning success as Candi parked her curvy behind on the high stool provided to her by the franchise owner and crossed her legs, her short skirt riding up just enough to make it clear that it could ride up a lot further if she got off the chair to strut her stuff. The 27% increase in sales that week made the boos a very happy man, Candi relished the attention given to her, seeing the mall security trying to act professional as they walked past trying to sneak a peek of her long legs, the customers lining up and then trying to hang around longer than was necessary after they'd had their small box of cupcakes, she drank it all up. She never got tired of the attention provided, even giggling like it was the first time she'd heard it each time someone made the same tired joke calling her "cupcake". The girls at the salon, previous having held the title as "hottest girls at the mall" stewed in their impotent jealousy from behind Old navy.

When Candi returned on the next Wednesday having had the Tuesday off and spent it at a day spa dolling herself up, she was surprised to find that they'd put up a second kiosk just ten feet from hers.
"This could be cool," she thought as she watched the still closed kiosk wondering what it would be selling and more importantly who'd be joining her each day. Even if they wouldn’t work for the same company, it would be like working in the same place and perhaps Candi would make a new friend. Or meet a cute guy, she thought and lost herself in a fantasy of a ruggedly handsome Israeli guy with just the right amount of stubble selling sunglasses right next to her. He'd say hi, they'd chat some between customers, and he'd show her the latest sunglasses his firm and beautiful hands putting the sunglasses on her and those fingers would push away strands of blonde hair from her face and their eyes would meet and....

""Excuse me, Candi?"
Candi was startled awake from her daydreaming just as she was on her knees sucking that big Israeli dick behind the sunglass kiosk.
"Oh, sorry Mr Panagakos, I was thinking of something else," Candi said getting off her high stool. She liked Mr Panagakos, he was an elderly Greek gentleman who in her first week here hadn't made a single comment about her appearance, possibly because if he had looked too hard his heart might have given up.
"Don't worry, I won't tell your boss if you don't," the elderly man chuckled, "us workers have to stick together against management after all, don't we?"
"Uh, yeah," Candi replied trying to think who would be the manager of a man who seemed to be around 80 if he was a day. "Say, do you know who'll be setting up shop in this kiosk?" She gestured at the new, still-closed kiosk ten feet away.
"No, they put it up yesterday but I never got the chance to ask them. If you want I could ask my son, he works over at Dick's?"
"No, that won’t be necessary, it'll probably open tomorrow and I7ll know by then," Candi replied with a sweet smile the rugged Israeli guy making a repeat appearance in her mind. "Thanks for offering tho Mr Panagakos, it's really sweet of you. The usual today?"
"Yes, please, my dear." Mr Panagakos had been coming by every day since Candi started at the kiosk, always getting the same thing, one Key Lime mini cupcake.
As Candi waved goodbye to the elderly Greek, she saw the beginning of the lunch rush coming her way, eyeing her goods.

The following day Candi returned to work and when she turned the corner and saw her kiosk she froze. Or rather, she froze when she saw the kiosk next to hers. Just ten feet away from her kiosk of mini cupcakes someone had seen fit to open up a macaroon kiosk, the colorful little confections laying there like a challenge to her cupcake hegemony.
"What were they thinking?" Candi thought as she walked up to her kiosk to open up. The macaroon kiosk had its blinds still shut, but she could hear someone moving around behind them obviously setting up shop. "Well, if they want to spend their money opening up a confection stand next to mine, see if I care," she thought. It just seemed so dumb to try and muscle in on her sweet tooth turf just ten feet away from her, but who was she to second-guess the mall management?
The sounds of setting up shop next doors subsided and the blinds rolled up revealing the macaroon kiosk in all its glory. It was white, looked clean, it had a large variety of brightly colored macaroons on display, a high stool for the sales clerk to sit on and a big sign advertising their prices.
The sales clerk came out from behind the kiosk and all hopes of a rugged and sun-kissed guy were crushed. Instead, Candi saw a girl about her height, blond hair, a stunning face with long lashes and pouty lips, a white top straining to contain this girls large breasts, a narrow waist and wide hips encased in a short skirt. In short, it was like looking into a mirror. Candi hated it. Candi hated her from the first moment she saw her.
"Hey," she said, trying to at least show that she wasn't a bitch.
The new girl look at her and stopped dead in her tracks, obviously she was surprised by what she saw.
"Oh.... hey," the new girl said and wasted no time in looking Candi up and down.
"I'm Candi with an I, it's.... nice to meet you," Candi said returning the inspection.
"Oh. I'm Kandi, with a K and an I. It's nice to meet you too.... I guess." Kandi had finished her inspection of Candi and had decided she wasn't impressed. Kandi was used to be the number 1 blonde bombshell, and she didn't like this Candi with an I. The feeling was mutual.
"Oh.... cool," Candi replied and looked away from Kandi, trying to seem indifferent. Inside, she was fuming.
The two girls set up shop in silence and then sat down on their stools and waited for the first customers. The way the kiosks were set up any visitors to the mall that wanted to walk past their kiosks had to walk right between them. The two girls sat there in silence, legs crossed and studying each other in silence. The more they studied one another the more they loathed each other. The two girls sat there, each more and more certain that she was the better everything, salesgirl, girl, bimbo, everything. Everything.
"So mini cupcakes, huh?" Kandi suddenly asked.
"Yeah, they're really tasty." Candi replied with a sudden pride in the small baked goods she was selling.
"A bit 2016 tho, aren't they?" Kandi had the tone of someone feeling superior but to her credit she was good enough of an actress not to show it.
"They're tried and true, better than those little things you're selling."
"Macaroons are sooo much better than your stale old-" Kandi almost snarled when the first customers of the day turned around the corner and came into view. The two girls got off their stools, adjusted their skirts just a little and then put on big smiles.
"Hello boys," they said, almost in unison. Their synchronization bugged them both. The two customers, both employees at the T-Mobile store looking for a quick snack to bring back to their store and a quick eyeful of cleavage looked back and forth between the two girls.
"Wow, are you sisters?" one of the guys asked, oblivious to the tension between the two girls.
"Uh, no... what do you want today, sugar?" Candi replied almost popping a vein in her forehead at being compared with Kandi. "Chocolate?"
"Maybe they want to try something new, Candi, something different," Kandi said, subtly pulling her shoulders back to fill the neckline of her white top even more. "Maybe they don't want the same old thing every day."
"Maybe they do," Candi replied as she mimicked Kandi's movements, pushing her chest out as if asking the two guys to settle who had the better pair. "Maybe they like what they've had so far and don't want to try something.... inferior."
"Inferior, I'll show you-" Kandi almost snapped but stopped as the two guys came upon a great compromise.
"Hey, you get some of those macaroons and I'll get the cupcakes, and we'll split it," the second guy suggested and before either of the two girls could object or make any counter offers the two guys were picking out their goodies.
"Bye now, come again!" Candi and Kandi waved goodbye to their first customers of the day.
"Listen up, Candi, I don't know who you think you are or what you're-"
"I think Im the best-selling cupcake girl here and if you think you're going to butt in-"
"Butt in like anyone could move your fat ass!"
"Fat? Just because you don't have an ass and you're stuffing that bra of yours like some-"
"Stuffing I'm not stuffing you're the one stuffing you ugly-"
"who are you calling ugly you freak of nat-"
"Who's your doctor I want to know, so I don't get a fucked up nose job like you-"
"You'd know all about plastic surgeons you little-"
"Excuse me, ladies?"

Candi and Kandi snapped out of their conversation that rapidly was becoming a confrontation and realized they were standing breast to breast hissing at each other. Startled, they separated and looked to the source of the interruption, a middle-aged woman.
"I just wanted to hand out these flyers about the show next weekend, I7d love it if you could put them up for me for your customers to see."
Kandi and Candi took a flyer each. "Kids show! Balloons! Gorilla playing saxophone!" it read with the date, location and time printed at the bottom.
"Sure, this looks like it7ll be fun", Kandi said with a strained smile. Candi nodded along, smiling as well.
"Oh I7 m sure it will be," the woman said as she made her way past the two kiosk girls, "if you can keep out of each others' hair until then, that is."
Candi and Kandi looked at the woman as she left before they looked at each other and then turned on their heels and returned to their stools, neither speaking another word to the other for the remainder of the day.

I really loved the setup :) Much like macaroons, the German cellular provider is as beloved here in Europe as Verizon and AT&T is stateside, so for me personally it would have worked imagining them as hostesses for hire. Keep it up :)

Lay aside your doubts about your writing skills. This is marvelously will written. And it's also a very entertaining begining for the hot catfight to come. Candi and Kandi- what a clever set up. Those of us who love twin and look-alike fights (along with everyone else) are salivating over the next chapter.

You are a good writer so worry no more. The one thing that stood out though was you didn't state their ages. It might add to the story if they were about two years apart , of course whatever you do will be fine with everyone here.

Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words. I'm working on a part 2 right now, I was on a roll when the batteries died in my word processor and I had to stop to go get new ones. That kind of killed the flow of it but I'm getting there.
