There were many close fights this round - not unexpected as the later rounds tend pit more evenly matched opponents against each other. A recap of the fights as this reporter saw it:
Rhonda Fleming 24 vs Kim Novak 56: Everyone except byline thought this would be a close fight. Perhaps byline gave us some good insight that Kim is practicing her finishing moves in preparation for the upcoming tough fights. Instead Kim gave Rhonda the worst thrashing of this round. Kim knocked Rhonda out, put her on her stomach and perched her lovely butt on Rhonda's equally lovely butt where she could watch the other fights between the other top contenders. Was she scouting them? Rhonda said "She gave me a worse beating than Ursula did (@63%) and I didn't think that was possible. Kim was the only one not routing for Claudia to beat Ursula although that would have made perfect sense. Said Kim "I just want the best woman to win so win I face her (either Claudia or Ursula) I will be facing the best. That is the true test and if I win or lose it is against the best, no excuses."
Jeanne Crain 42 vs Joan Collins 37: Jeanne Crain proved the "experts" wrong as they all picked Joan Collins to win. She was not intimidated by Joan's vicious claws or nasty tricks. She went and proved she was stronger, not giving in to the pain inflicted by Joan. She trapped Joan between her legs to squeeze Joan into submission.
Rita Hayworth 40 vs Ava Gardner 41: A very even fight that could have gone either way. It was the second closest fight just behind Anita Ekberg over Jane Fonda and only by 0.08%. After many exchanges of holds, hairpulling, and slapping the fight came down to a battle or wrist bending. Rita and Ava locked up their right hands cupped around the others palm and fingers. They then wrapped heir left hand around their rivals right forearm and grabbed her own right forearm to add leverage to bending the others wrist back. It looked like Rita would win as she started pushing Ava's hand back. But at the last half second, Ava gave a big push and reversed, bending Rita's wrist so far back it almost snapped before Rita could scream. Ava was awarded the victory under the "loud scream" rule instigated to prevent bones being broken or permanent injury being inflicted.
Joi Lansing 34 vs Marilyn Monroe 46: Joi put up a good struggle against Marilyn, matching her hairpull for hairpull, slap for slap, and kick for kick. But Marilyn got the advantage once she put Joi on the ground. Marylin simply wore Joi out by pressing her body constantly on Joi's. She ended up giving Joi the fourth worth beat down for a 57'5% beat down.
Jane Russell 37 vs Angie Dickinson 40: Barbosa called this one right when he said "Very hot fight between two so big names. Jane has the size advantage and Angie the youth. ". The only problem was he thought Jane would overpower Angie. She did lift Angie in a bear hug and almost crushed her into unconsciousness. At the last second Angie slammed the heel of her hand into Jane's chin, rattling her teeth and breaking the hold. Angie immediately attacked with multiple blows to Jane's belly and large breasts until Jane went down. Even at that Angie had all she could do to keep Jane down for the win in the fight closest fight in a round that featured many close fights.
Elizabeth Taylor 38 vs Lisa Gaye 42: Another close fight, this being the seventh closest fight of the round. Lisa was slightly favored by the experts. Elizabeth struck a pose to intimidate Lisa, trying to look her toughest and meanest. Lisa did look apprehensive in her glance at Elizabeth. There was vicious hairpulling with Lisa managing to overpower Elizabeth but not my much. Elizabeth resorted to using her teeth which made the fight close again until Lisa threatened to punch her teeth out. Elizabeth became the one who was intimidated and Lisa forced her to quit or lose her teeth.
Jayne Mansfield 42 vs Tina Louise 37: The experts favored Tina over Jayne with only Vasago having the insight in selecting Jayne. Perhaps Tina was overconfident and took Jayne too lightly believing the press that she is a cream puff. Jayne says her real inspiration comes from barbosa who puts her down so much she gets all riled up to prove him wrong. "How many wins or close loses do I need over tough opponents before he gives me a break?" she asks. Jayne did not use her big boobs to win this fight but instead wrapped her leg around Tina's longer leg to force a surrender with a step-over-toe-hold as Tina couldn't stand the pain.
Martha Hyer 46 vs Brigitte Bardot 33: Martha more than convincingly proved she is the woman that rules the bed, at least compared to Brigitte. "She may be the sex kitten" bragged Martha, "but I am a full grown sex cat." First Martha whipped Brigitte in a catfight and then forced her into multiple orgasms in a sex fight. Martha also won the sexy blonde fight (Martha vs Brigitte compared to Marilyn vs Joi), giving Brigitte a slightly worse beating than Marilyn gave Joi for the third worst beat down of the round.
