(Took place just before filming season one of New Amsterdam)
Lyndsy Fonsecas’ career had kind of stalled. She and Ashley Greene fought a war. It was to this point both women’s best fight. They were afraid to fight each other in the beginning and the fight itself proved why they were afraid to fight each other. Lyndsy lost that war but if they fought 100 times then 100 times the fight would be a war and it would end with equal results
Lyndsy to come back to this after losing she wanted to prove why she still belonged in the conversation, so she wanted a woman she felt many thoughts was a challenge. She thought of the last time that was what she wanted, and she got a tough fight in Sarah Butler. This time she wanted someone like Sarah who wouldn’t take it as personal. So she asked Shane West to get what she wanted
There was a picture frame she took out and it was a digital display of her fight with Ashley. She closed her eyes and knew she had to prove that wasn't her peak. Ashley and she had a fight where both had their best showings, but it was only one who was thought of that way.
An email came in, she read it and smiled it was from Janet
'Word is you are upset that you fought Sarah not me. You have been saying you want to fight me then let’s do it... Let's fight.'
'Time and place. LF'
'This is not a war this is a fight, lets do it in a ring'
'Perfect, no catfighting I want skill vs. skill'
'Good, I’ve been in enough wars'
They got to the arena they were going to fight in and both were at the ring apron. A few people came in to watch this and the two women met outside the ring. Lyndsy was nervous they said it was a skill-based fight but she wasn’t sure. Janet smiled came over and shook her hand
“Shane speaks so highly of you and he asked to be here.”
Shane West showed up “I want to be the ref. Two friends fighting skill vs skill and if either of you go with catfight stuff which is also great but not for this. Friends fighting do you two really want to do this though.”
The two got ready and Janet noticed Lyndsy looked stronger than her and thought about watching that war with Ashley Greene “You two… How do I ask this?”
“Ashley and I match up really well together. I was disrespecting her, or she was disrespecting me and then we found out we should only fight once. Honestly one of us winning was lucky I was ready to pass out and she was too. We knew halfway through the fight that our skill base was equal, speed was equal and strength. The winner was … she won.
Lyndsy was upset thinking about Ashley Greene and looked at Janet sized her up “Best way for you to find out is take someone on so equal that no matter what you do, she can do. What she does to you, you do to her. You are so close to passing out that if it goes another strike.”
“Ha you do know who I am right. Katie McGrath was what you just described. Have you ever heard of my fight with Rose Leslie and equal… Equal with another woman and refusal to give up… shane she knows about Aubrey right”
“Katie and you were something unique to everything else. Aubrey made you fight her fight, she just got knocked out bad by Sarah Butler who I’ve fought…. You and Rose wasn’t that the most hate filled fight of your life. You and Erin Richards were special as well, some fake hate but desire to be better and to you know.”
“Yes.”
“Ashley and I never hated each other… Still kind of don’t but we really don’t like each other but neither of us ever want to do that again…” Lyndsy smiled.
“What are you smiling about?”
“You and Sarah Butler, I’d pay to watch that.”
“Why? I mean really why?”
“She reminds me of you, during the fight I’ll see how similar you two are.”
“For the record, Janet would beat Sarah.” Shane said
Janet got into the ring “Thanks sweety, wish us luck.”
Lyndsy got in and looked at Shane and smiled “This is the weirdest feeling ever. Butler came at me like I fucked her man, Greene was all about which of us was better, but this is something new.”
“Good luck to you both.”
They were in the ring and shook hands in the middle then backed up to opposite corners. They looked at Shane and invited him in to be the ref. He gladly obliged.
The two went to the middle and Lyndsy went for a jab but Janet ducked it and went for a single leg take down. Fonseca bounced back got her leg raised further and fought the take down and twisted her leg away and free from Janet.
Lyndsy walked around the ring resetting herself and Janet brought her fists up. She threw a jab at the air trying to close distance but was shocked when Lyndsy Fonseca stepped to the outside of that jab and jumped into a right hook over the arm and connecting with her cheek putting her down.
Shane jumped back and Lyndsy was on Janet’s back and hit another punch this one to the ear but Janet ducked her head and escaped.
Janet was covering up and backing away shocked at how great Fonseca was at what she just did. Maybe fighting purely skills was going to be a mistake.
“Want to know why Butler gave me such problems… She went full steam so I went full steam like we hated each other right away. Bitches like you and Sarah love that because it weakens the bitches like Ashley Greene and Teresa Palmer right away and gets them away from what they’re great at. You and Sarah got a lot of talent at the fists, the fighting where it needs to go but you don’t have what me and Ashley have. What Nina’s got in spades. The ability to make a woman hurt with a single punch.”
Janet blocked some punches and escaped stopped and hit a push kick that sent Lyndsy into the corner she then backed away “I’ve been hearing more about this Sarah lately and she’s been saying she’s better than me but you are correct I don’t have the one punch power of you, Ashley or Nina but I am tough and have talent… More than Sarah, you will see.”
Lyndsy began to circle to her right and bobbed her head up and down in and out but Janet wasn’t throwing punches. “She’d be throwing now, wouldn’t let me have the room to do…” She faked a punch and Janet stepped back, Lyndsy stepped across and hit a crocodile tail kick. Montgomery got her arm up but it got her in the arm pit and she was down. “that.” Fonseca said smiling
