now i am as surprised as aroused about the results.
Some girls i counted among my favorites have to leave the tournament because of brave and strong performances of their opponents.
But in Order...
Fight 1 Olivia (England) vs. Laura (Denmark) 13:12
What a fight! We saw the hardest and cruelest fight right at the beginning! The tightest decision of all fights in this round. It seemed Olivia and Laura were full of bloodthirst.
It was an open exchange of blows. While Olivia went full to attack from begin on Laura
tried to calm down the fight a little bit. But she failed and was forced into a cruel ground and pound with Olivia i haven't seen that often!
Sometimes Olivia and sometimes Laura was on top while both girls tangle with their legs, grabbing hair and use fists to the others face.
It was a tight and totally open fight. The crowd was very aroused by that spectacle and
chanted: "MORE! MORE! MORE!" although the girls faces were bloodied at this time.
Still lying on the ground Olivia's hands were raised to the air as the decision was announced.
The sweet redhead finally beats the shit out of Laura and won with an incrededible lead of
just one vote. How tight that fight was you can see on the blood decorated ground they fought moments before.
What a fight...
Fight 2 Denise (Germany) vs. Marike (Netherlands) 20:5
Denise which amongs to one of the favorite girls here left no doubt about her role.
She dominated Marike from start to the end. Marike tried to keep distance at the beginning
but as Denise could grab her Hair and pulled her down to the ground she never come back.
The german, from now on always on top, controled and demolished her victim by using nails
and fists. In the last seconds of the fight Marike got humiliated by a real bad facesit which
she was forced to taste Denise's smell. During the pronouncement we saw a relieved loser about the
end of the fight. In my mind Denise will entert he next round very relaxed and rested.
Fight 3 Medina (Kazakhstan) vs. Zara (Malaysia) 11:14
In this fight i was very surprised about the elimination of Medina which fought a perfect
9pts Groupstage seriesby Zara. Zara counts to one oft he lucky thirdplaced girls which
Entered this round with a mixed result. Medina starts with a sovereign fight on the ground.
But brave Zara come better and better into this game with each second the fight continued which the spectators honored with big applause and a one sided mood for her.
A mental break for Medina? Yes, i think it was. Zara forced Medina more and more into her style of fighting so the last third of the fight we saw two toe to toe standing, hairgrabbing
girls which gave fists into each others face. Some lucky punches gave the tipping point where
Medina got a bloody nose while Zara earned the victory.
Fight 4 Gabriela (Spain) vs. Sibel (Turkey) 14:10
Solid performance from both girls with a better end for Gabriela.
The crowd saw a good fight on the ground all the time with a lot of hairpulling, legwork and some nasty clawing on each others breast and bottom.
The last action had Gabriela with a stragglehold while sitting on Sibel's back.
The last action of Sibel was screaming out loud to stop till the bell rang.
Gabriela was voted in a tight decision tot he quarterfinals while Sibel left under tears the tournament.
Pity not to see more of that beauty.
Fight 5 Gosia (Poland) vs. Valentina (Mexico) 15:8
As Denise a few fights before Gosia never let any doubt about her victory and favorite
role during her fight with Valentina. The nasty polish Girl went on with an aggressivness
Valentina couldn't resist. Only a few actions she could set on Gosia's body which not leave any serious marks.
The mexican has to endure bad faceslapping and clawing before she was led trough Gosia on all fours to the very clear decision.
Gosia's incredible speed will bring her very far in that tourney. One of the favorites for the crown!
Fight 6 Harper (USA) vs. Freja (Sweden) 9:16
Both girls knew that only nearness and brave attacking could bring the victory.
So both girls clash from begin on with no attention of their defenses into each other.
By using claws, hairpulling and especially dirty tricks like biting and eye-gouging it was long time an even,
intensive fight.
At the end it seemed that Freja had more reserves as the american girl.
She could set more cruel attacks on her rival's body while Harper was occupied to fend off.
Harper was totally unamused as she leaves with a lot of anger.
Freja earned, after a totally weak first fight in the groupstage, very deserved the ticket for the next round.
One of the nastiest catballs i've ever seen...
Fight 7 Dominique (France) vs. Samira (Morocco) 10:15
Arrogant and overconfident i would describe Dominique if i have to do. Yes, she shows some
good fights during the groupstage but reached her limit in this fight against the very concentrated and serious fighting morrocan.
Samira kept calm and overview all over the fight and looked the french girl perfectly out.
She chose kicks and fists to the self-called favorite to force her into heavy breathing.
Because of her speed and agility Samira avoided many of Dominique's toughtless attacks.
At the end we saw Dominique's red head on the ground and a winning girl who didn't move a face.
Fight 8 Donatella (Italy) vs. Naina (India) 16:10
Just a word before...
I realy trusted her more than that weak show she gave. As one of my favs she starts the
tourney Naina couldn't show the will and cruelty an indian should have.
So an easy game for Donatella in the second half of the fight. A few fists on Naina's face and her will was broken again.
With no fightingspirit the indian got dominated by a girl who i think she was never in a situation to show all her skills.
Solid victory of Donatella against an weak girl with a few good moments but nothing serious. I promised myself more.
Here are the ladies again which have to leave...
