Is this cursed?
« on: November 17, 2024, 01:53:15 AM »
I was watching Killer Sally tonight, which is about Sally McNeil and her murder of her husband. It got me thinking, is the wrestling fetish world cursed?

Sally killed her husband (which I'm amazed didn't bring more attention to wrestling since it was mentioned back then and a lot in the documentary). Santana was killed by her husband. Lexi, Kyla Luciano, candi (Kelli thomas), and nadege died early. A few academy girls died from overdosing. I believe a girl from Carolina catfights did as well.

Is it wrestling that's cursed or is it an extension because it's a subset of porn and that world is really a mess? It just seems like so many girls who came into this world died early or ended up bad. There's also another one that comes to mind, but I don't know if I should mention it publicly since she's moved on.

Interesting observation. I suspect if there is a link to shorter lives it may be due to their lifestyle- most of the women you mentioned chose wrestling as a living (or to supplement their income), not an easy profession at the best of times.

The fetish is a poor cousin and window into sex work and the porn industry.

It pays a lot less and work is less frequent.  Most of the girls would have suitcase pimp boyfiends who spend and control their money and it usually ends badly.

You answered your own question. IMO it's because of that link into the porn world. Unfortunately that lifestyle has a very dark and dangerous side much like every form of entertainment. Sports, music, Hollywood, the adult industry at the end of the day they all have that f***ed up flipside attached

I heard somewhere about one of the girls from Academy dying and knew of a couple others ( Nadege and Candy ) but didn't know circumstances other than Nadege.

I don't know if it's wrestling leading into the dirty, drug infused world of porn or if it's the other way around ( my belief ) but you have to admit whoever is attracted to making a living of porn is no doubt in for a rough ride. I  visited a guy who had a sex fighting site many years ago . I think Covid might have  did it in as I never saw anything updated on the site since. He was a great guy and if you met him and didn't know what he did , you'd never have guessed he was involved in anything like that as he just seemed like a regular guy with a 'normal' way of making a living.  I spent an afternoon talking with him about it and asked where he got the girls do such raw, uninhibited sex fighting with each other.  :o.

He told me his girls were either dancers, prostitutes and women who were already in or were breaking in to the porn industry. They were locals at first but then as it grew he had girls driving across the US to compete.  It his own words when I asked about them  his response was ;  'Yeah, obviously these girls aren't right' . LOL

I hope I'm wrong but I could see some of the girls in his videos meeting a similar fate like some you mentioned.

It doesn't have to be this way , but unfortunately it is. The female fighting world is linked to porn, quick money and violence. That's a recipe for disaster.

Robin, Hollywood, Monica, Antscha, Veve all have over 20-30 years of experience and are still going strong. No, I don't think girls that Wrestle or Catfight are cursed.

I agree with the previous answer. It all depends on the individual and the situation in their life. The same can be said that the film industry and music also lead to the abyss of suicide and drugs :). Of course not. And then most of the women who earn and earned by wrestling and catfight have always devoted a lot of time to coaching and a healthy lifestyle, session wrestlers usually have a constant contingent of adequate clients, even on the road. Naturally, there are a lot of female wrestlers one way or another in the adult industry :), the same Czech and Hungarian girls:) leading a cheerful lifestyle, but they are all right :)

The fetish world like the adult entertainment industry often operates in the shadow of public respectability. The marginalization creates a lack of external support systems like fewer unions, less access to mental health resources and a stigma that makes it harder for people to ask for help. When you’re isolated and already dealing with intense physical and emotional demands, that’s a recipe for tragedy.

So, is it cursed? No, not literally. But it’s got all the hallmarks of a system that’s built to break people down like high pressure, low support, blurred lines, and a tendency to attract people already carrying heavy loads. It’s not just the wrestling fetish world, though. It’s more like a microcosm of what happens in any high-risk, high-vulnerability niche, especially those that orbit the edges of the sex industry. The work pays less, comes inconsistently, and often leaves performers entangled with controlling 'partners' who exploit them financially and emotionally. Add the stigma of working in a space seen as a stepchild of porn or sex work, and it becomes clear how easily lives unravel in such a precarious environment.
