This is a great thread -- thanks for posting on this @ LQQKING4CATFIGHTER
I really like this thread as it gets to a issue that I’ve had with these topics for some time. I have always been into catfights, especially titfights and cockfights. But as I have read more and talked to more people I realize that we do not have common definitions, and in fact, different people using exactly the same word mean very different, sometimes opposite meanings. That’s certainly true of the word cockfight.
I would never tell anyone that they are wrong with their definition and language is ever changing. So the “argument” as to what something means becomes a little tired for me.
For myself, I find it really valuable to get away from the label and focus on the desires of those participating. Let’s assume you find catfights sexually stimulating. You find someone else who says she is “into catfights”. Is it right to assume that other person is also sexually excited by catfights? Is it right to assume that women who catfight are lesbian or bi?
Assuming you do find catfighting sexually exciting, are you equally excited by
- two impoverished women fighting for the last scrap hit of a drug they are addicted to,
- two slave girls made to fight by an evil overlord
- two women who are competing to win the affection of a man they both want
- two lesbian women who want to test their bodies against each other in a consensual contest for dominance.
Maybe you find all these sexually exciting, but it is my opinion that two women coerced into fighting is not sexy at all. That is, I think, the desires of the two combatants is so important. The topic here is “Gay Catfight Fans”, and I would suggest that trying to bind desire for sexual contests and sexual orientation is difficult and perhaps fruitless. Myself, I don’t think it exists.
As for cockfighting, I would start with WHY the two men want to compete in an activity they both call a cockfight. And what do they mean when they say they want to cockfight? Are they fighting with swords on horses? Are they wrestling naked? Are they using their cocks to try to hurt the other man’s genitals?
Two gay men can just have fun, touching either other’s cocks, and call that a cockfight. I would call that a euphemism and not a literal definition, but still wouldn’t argue those men are wrong.
Two gay men can compete for dominance and in some way use their cocks (naked wrestling, actually cock to cock fighting or some other way), and call that a cockfight. I wouldn’t call that use of the word cockfight a euphemism and respect that definition.
Two straight men who want to emasculate the other man, by aggressive/violent cock to cock impacts, because they both want a desired woman (they both want to fuck) see his own cock destroy the other man’s cock, is also cockfight. I suppose people can try to label that as gay, but then the definition of gay would have to include the notion of two men who want to have sex with a woman, and who do not want to have sex with men, and want to hurt the other man’s genitals. That would be a stretch of the word “gay” in my opinion. Perhaps it is not culturally or technically “heterosexual” but I stop being interested in labels at this point.
And I’m sure there are dozens of other scenarios of bisexual cockfights, transexual cockfights and on and on, which are completely legitimate uses of the word cockfight.
We like to have simple single words and phrases to get at what we like. But for me, increasingly, I’m less interested in trying to pin down definitions of words to say a cockfight is gay or not, I like to quickly ask WHY and what the desires and motivations of the actors are.
