Will the video industry ever emerge again?
« on: July 14, 2023, 10:05:57 PM »
Do you think we will ever see the likes of Festelle, German Mat Club, LGIS, etc. ever emerge again? Is it because we’ve moved from a video to a virtual age? Or is it that with the growth of MMA, the public wants more violent female combat? What happened to our beloved amateur combat industry? Interested in reading your thoughts.

WMMA girls are clearly chosen based on looks.  They're skilled, too--but they're obviously expected to promote with (long) hair down all, nice clothes ,and whitened teeth.  It's pretty much equivalent to the Lessja vs Olga DWW heyday.

Sumiko gave up so the industry is probably dead for good.

Money will make anything happen again.

If someone wealthy enough is wants to see it, it will happen.

If you found a place where you could get women together to fight… maybe $1,000 entry and another $1,000 for each match won and have eight women agree to show up with the lure of a potential $3,000 or $4,000 payday, it could happen.

You would also need to find a place where you would not get arrested or sued for doing this.

Have them do Crystal-style fights, but no closed fists.

I’m guessing $25,000 to produce and taking a pretty big financial bath once it happens.

I mean it could happen, in fact technology might make it easier to happen with live streaming, but it also makes it harder to recoup a profit.

Back in the day, Crystal would sell 300 tapes of their best fights. ECNWC used the same metric - 300 sales for the best fights.

Could a catfight company sell 300 live-stream tickets at $50 a pop? Could they then sell the edited fights afterward? Could they sell $5,000 seats to be at the event for the weekend?

Sure. Does anyone want to put up the up-front capital? Who knows?

Catfight companies only happen because someone with the catfight bug wants to see catfights. Crystal… ECNWC… Suitefights… all examples.

Great question, i think as tech evolves we may have to wait to see the new best thing in how videos /film is made and delivered to the consumer. Naturally a ton depends on us the consumer demand equals supply these days. You might see more of a vid. Company asking for consumers to pre pay hen hire the models and all prepaid get the first copies sort of thing, this way the company knows what it will cost before producing he video. It happened nice before for a short time when the switch from vhs to dvd came along

I mean, just make it like an MMA pay per view.

You don't buy the MMA fight after it happens.

You get 300 people paying $20 each, that's $6,000... and that's not enough to do this.

If this is to work, it needs to move outside this small message board and more national like Lingerie Fighting League or whatever that's called.

I think the Video industry is largely dead with regard to Fem Vs Fem.  First Piracy is so prevalent that the only way to protect your IP is with an army of lawyers.  Plus I think we are a dwindling market.  In the Porn world, Fem Vs Fem stuff is so tame that many people don't even classify it as porn.  I do think we will continue to have small fan based companies pop up and then slowly fade away forever.  And with women more aggressive and willing to be physical, I think we will continue to see much more professional women's boxing, MMA, wrestling, etc.  But probably fewer and fewer catfights as they are too sexist for many modern women.  On the plus side, I think with AI we are only a few years away from being able to load pictures of any two women, telling the AI we want to see a video of those two fighting (in whatever style we want) and we will probably get a video so real we won't be able to tell it from reality.
I love catfights and chatting.  Look me up on trillian at ljack66   (I think... just figuring Trillian out)

I dunno. Lots of companies like that aren't making videos anymore. Look at beka and their live events and stuff.

I wish that stuff would make a comeback, but I dunno. Your best bet would be to hit a college town or something and put out fliers and see what happens.
