There are a few threads which you can find with stories generated by Chat GPT and AIDungeon

Doesn't Chat GPT leave it to PG-13 for the most part?

For some basic stories you can use ChatGPT. The quality is great. But, of course, no violence, nudity, etc.
But, if you e.g. like good scenarios, then ChatGPT is really good to write you an interesting scenario. I love it to create scenarios. It is also good in translating to other languages. So, feel free to us it in any language.

I also recommend chatfighters.com. There is a chat where you can fight bots. There is also a "story-telling-bot" Fortunately it allows everything that is forbidden in public ChatGPT. Well, you need some time to reed the instructions. But, as always, if you want good quality, you need to invest some time...

Good luck and have fun!

As both an author and artist of all-too-limited human skill, I find the rise of AI to be discouraging.

I wouldn't say the rise of AI is a bad thing. The problem is the people who are developing AI don't understand neither the art nor artists. It's just a math problem to them.

They also use up a ridiculous amount of environmental resources (primarily water for cooling) -- and are currently in the process of being sued by multiple large corporations due to how they acquire their data.

I would love to find an AI program that could illustrate stories. Does anyone know of a good one?

One site i found that makes good stories is perchance.org. it was recommended by bing ai for unrestricted story and image generation and while the image part is not that good, with the right prompts and words the story generation is actually very good.

I'm not getting at the writer here, because I know English isn't his first language; and besides, his stories are unusual and fun, however mechanical the prose. But what I hate about AI-generated texts is their monotony. It churns out sentence after sentence after sentence with exactly the same structure. The following, for example, appear in quick succession, virtually on the same page:

But Pippa's smile was unyielding, her eyes gleaming with the thrill of victory.

"You are silly," she whispered, her voice a siren's song that seemed to wrap around Samantha's very soul.

She leaned down, her teeth grazing the brunette's earlobe.

Samantha's body was a live wire, her muscles tightening and releasing in a dance of desperation.

Pippa's eyes gleamed with triumph, her smile a promise of more to come.

She leaned in, her breath hot against Samantha's cheek.

"Say it," she murmured, her voice a seductive whisper that seemed to resonate through every nerve ending.

Samantha's body was a tightly wound coil, her pussy clenching around Pippa's pussy like a vice.

See what I mean? And don't get me started on "The air was thick with …"  ;D Well, see for yourselves:

Again, who can be bothered to read something you couldn't be bothered to write?
I hope you like the feeling of my nails on your face.

Because you're gonna feel 'em.

The rain pattered against the windowpanes, creating a rhythmic melody that echoed through Tiberius' quiet study. The soft glow of the computer screen cast a warm, yellowish light onto his face, illuminating his anticipation as he eagerly awaited the latest update from his favorite catfight story website. The scent of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the room, mingling with the faint aroma of aged paperbacks that lined the shelves, a comforting scent that never failed to stir his imagination. He took a sip of the hot beverage, feeling its warmth spread down his throat, as he typed in the familiar URL with practiced ease.

As the freecatfights.com webpage loaded, Tiberius felt a peculiar thrill. Each time he visited the site was a chance to escape into the vivid worlds crafted by his favorite authors. His eyes darted to the 'Recent Posts' section, and his heart skipped a beat when he noticed a new post from 'Kiva’, the username of the writer who had created the epic saga he had been following for years. But there, nestled among the titles, was an unfamiliar name: 'The Algorithmic Aesthete'. Intrigued, he clicked on the post, expecting to find the usual rich tapestry of narrative. Instead, he was met with a wall of text that seemed to have been churned out by a machine. The sentences were structurally sound, the grammar impeccable, but the story lacked the soulful human touch that had drawn him to the site in the first place.

He scrolled down, hoping for some semblance of creativity, but every paragraph was a disappointing repetition of clichés and predictable plot twists. Characters were flat, dialogue forced, and descriptions as bland as a bowl of unsalted oatmeal. His initial excitement turned to a frown as he pondered over the stark contrast between the storytelling he cherished and this cold, mechanical output. The coffee that had once warmed him now tasted bitter.

With a sigh, Tiberius decided to give the 'Algorithmic Aesthete' a fair chance. Perhaps there was a unique angle or clever twist hidden in the narrative. But page after page, he found himself growing more and more frustrated. The story felt like a robotic imitation of human emotion, a shadow of what true storytelling could be. His mind began to wander, contemplating the possibility that the art of storytelling could be reduced to algorithms and data points.

Tiberius took a moment to ponder the implications. In a world increasingly dominated by technology, was there a place for the human touch in art? He had always found solace in the imperfections of human-crafted narratives, the raw emotions, the unexpected plot twists that reflected the complexities of life. This machine-generated story was a stark reminder of how much he valued the connection with the authors whose words he devoured.

Hey, that wasn’t bad for AI. Seriously, I don’t fault members for posting AI generated stories. It gives people who are not native English speakers or don’t have a penchant for writing an avenue to share their fantasy stories. However, I suspect that before long, AI generated stories here will far outnumber human ones as more people give it a try and the quality improves. As a writer, I understand the frustration of having your story, which you spent weeks creating yourself, thrown in with AI generated posts. But it seems to me that the horse is out of the barn.

Don’t bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Spend thirty seconds in my head. That’ll freak you right out.

But it seems to me that the horse is out of the barn.
Horses bolt, sweet Kiva. They don't just out-of-the-barn themselves any old how. Horses, as any stable lad or ladess will tell you, come in two varieties: bolted and unbolted, and it's the bolted ones most likely to be spotted AWOL and chewing your grandmother's geraniums.
Which gives me an idea (if only I knew a good writer!) for a story: the stable lass, whose negligence is the cause of the carnage in said grandmother's garden, comes in search of the offending beast, attaches its bridle and tries to sneak off before anyone spots them. Unfortunately for her, (alas! lack-a-day! lack-a-day!), the granddaughter happens to look out of her bedroom window at the wrong moment and comes haring down the stairs and along the garden path to confront her. Words are exchanged, followed by slaps, and the altercation escalates (the way these things all too often do) into a knock-down, drag-out fight that spills over from the path to the flower bed, sodden after a night of heavy rain …
