Becky's Getting Married (F*** The World)

Becky’s Getting Married (Fuck The World)

I stand in the locker room and look at each of the girls. This is it; this is where we either sink or swim.

“Look,” I say, “tonight, I want each of you to give this everything you’ve got; put all your effort into every match, every promo, everything. For far too long, we’ve allowed this company to be held hostage, and I’ve been aiding in that… but tonight, we make our stand.”

I look at each of those girls, each one in a different outfit, each one with a different look and a different expression… most of them are very skeptical about what I’m saying. They know that I’ve centered this entire promotion around Becky and making Becky a star. They know that no one has gotten a bigger push than Becky, that Becky’s been in on practically all of the booking meetings, and that Becky was my best friend. But tonight, that changes… it has to. I look at Lucky Star, 5’5” 135 lbs; she looks like the younger version of Madonna with her long curly reddish brown hair, her sexy eyes and dimples, and that almond shaped navel that barely sticks in.

{alt}

Lucky was Becky’s tag team partner and Lucky was becoming a pretty big star in the promotion in her own right, with an ego and selling of her sexual ferocity to rival that of Madonna herself, but Becky got jealous of Lucky’s rise, even if the company was big enough for both of them. Becky broke up the tag team and got my ear, wanting me to bury Lucky in every way possible. But you can’t ignore who the fans like and who they pay attention to. I could put Lucky up against girls who would beat her all over the place, cheaters and that like. I could put her in hardcore, no holds barred matches and she could get hurt, but that wouldn’t stop the fans from liking her and it would only hurt our promotion because one of our top draws would be out with injuries.

My only option was to make Becky a bigger star than Lucky. Becky was the same height and weight as Lucky, but Becky had blonde hair and blue eyes and a naturally friendly personality and face. She really was a good person and I still think she is; she just had issues with Lucky’s sexual misconduct and image. Now you would say, wait a minute… Becky comes out in a blue and white cheerleading outfit that’s a rip off of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, with her tanned stomach and slightly out-sticking navel and wrestling boots that are made to look like white cowboy boots. Yes, Becky was very much a hypocrite in that regard, but she was selling the image of a young, naïve girl who just wanted to compete and have fun, while Lucky really pushed the envelope with her promos and her actions in her matches. Don’t get me wrong, talent wise, Lucky and Becky were what and what. Lucky was more of a “Ravishing Rick Rude meets Catwoman” type, good technician with every move spewing sexuality. Becky was more a highflyer “Shawn Michaels meets Sleeping Beauty” type with speed and the ability to make you care when she was hurt. They were an odd pairing as a tag team, but it worked because I knew that eventually they would break up, and it was obvious who would be the face (good guy) and the heel (bad guy) if they chose to feud with each other.

I look at Taboo, my 5’10” 140 lb star. Taboo looks just like the singer Sade and that’s how she got the name, since Sade sings a song called “The Sweetest Taboo.”

{alt}

Taboo my not say that much behind the microphone, but she’s one of the best and most consistent fighters with a background in both striking and submissions… she’s a pure technician and another girl who’s suffered because I’ve been so committed to Becky Star. I realize now that as a promoter, you can’t focus all of your energy into one person; you can’t center everything around one person. I should know better; I wrestled as Elvira Dark back in the late eighties and early nineties because I looked like Elvira and I could get away with copying the look without being sued.

{alt}

I was on a roll; I’m 5’10” 170 lbs, mostly in my chest, butt and thighs, and I could really move and dominate my opponents. Most of them were afraid of me before the bell even rang because not only would I be in the Elvira outfit and I could fight, I’d have whips and chains and even the occasional dildo. Then, I got married to one of the promoters of another federation and he didn’t want me wrestling anymore. It’s strange how they don’t mind you doing it when they’re fucking you, but once you get married, they want you to stop everything and be with them. So, I talked him into letting me be a booker. I got a divorce once he admitted he had started cheating on me with another girl in the promotion who, to this day, I don’t know the identity of. I didn’t get the house; I didn’t get full custody of the kids; but I got ownership of the promotion… Females of Triumph Wrestling (I know it’s a stupid name, but the initials FTW are what we primarily use ha ha, especially since our promotion is primarily out of Fort Worth, Texas). The girls already knew me, so it was an easy transition at first.

Becky was one of the girls who helped me and she had already been one of my road buddies back when I was competing and our two organizations would work shows together. Once I took over, I found out that running a wrestling organization is hard, especially a small one like ours. When my ex gave FTW up, every friend of his who was on the booking committee went with him and I was pretty much by myself. But the girls would book their own matches and help out with the promotional aspects, thank goodness. I tell you; you could have War Hog and Jungle Julia beat the living shit out of each other in a Fort Worth Streetfight and about an hour after the show, they have to help me package our t-shirts to send out or put on disguises to go around the city and place fliers on cars. Becky would help with the booking and we work out together, eat together, and we really bonded. When I was going through my divorce, Becky’s shoulder was often burdened by my face and tears. When we thought FTW was going to go belly up because our talent kept leaving, Becky and I would find a way. She was very much a part of the process and I felt like I needed to reward her work behind the scenes, despite her just being another pretty blonde with good to very good in ring skills.

You have to understand friendship, real friendship, to understand what I did with Becky. We were a small promotion; girls would come in, get popular, and leave. We would barely sell out bingo halls or backyards during this time… I was losing money. But Becky was such a selling point and so was Lucky. I told all the girls that they had to do whatever they felt they had to in order to get over with the fans. Lucky did her thing; Becky wore the revealing outfits, but kept it clean. War Hog thought she could help her cause by attacking Marissa “The Fighting Honor Student” Simmons (see my story “Rivals”), but that backfired when Marissa beat her up in an empty swimming pool. I’m not going to go into it, but I’ve dealt with people stabbing me in the back and letting me down all through my life. My ex husband had to ask me five times to marry him before I agreed, and look at how that turned out. I’ve had girls come into FTW swearing allegiance and commitment and a few weeks later, they’re trying to get out of their contracts or asking for more money, knowing I can’t pay them what they’re asking for. FTW was just one big revolving door, but girls like Lucky, Taboo, and Becky stayed and helped us. But Becky was my girl and her idea of a great promotion was to make herself the center of the company and build around her. Marie B. was a big star and she was a little blonde girl and there’re the Bully Brit videos out there too. Not to mention, blondes with sympathetic faces and squeaky clean images have done well in the wrestling world… just ask Alicia Christmas. Becky would go out and perform and the fans would eat it up; I put more of an emphasis on her merchandise, even if she lost.

Becky kept telling me that she wasn’t like the other people I’d known in life. She kept telling me that she wouldn’t let me down and that she was in it for the long haul. “I’m a true friend and a real person” she would always say and she insisted this. Like I said, I’ve had a lot of trust issues and believing that was hard, but I kept on giving her what she wanted, despite Lucky’s popularity and Taboo’s consistency. Our promotion got more and more popular because of Becky, but so much of it was centered on Becky that the other girls really weren’t known unless you actually came to a show. Then, Becky wanted Lucky to drop “Star” from her name and I had to go through that drama. Becky said, “I’m the only ‘star’ here!” and Lucky took a leave of absence, telling me to let her know when I got my company back. It was very, very ugly and I was legitimately sad for both of them because they’d known each other for a long time and now, they were feuding and it wasn’t the kind of feud you wanted in a fighting promotion. Lucky was willing to fight Becky for the right to the name, but Becky and even wanted me to fire Lucky. I had to fly all the way up to Detroit to talk to Lucky about coming back to FTW before she jumped to another promotion. Becky didn’t like the person Lucky had become and didn’t want anything to do with her, but Becky was changing to… enter Steve.

Becky met a guy named Steve somewhere somehow and they started dating. Now, she was my business partner; she was committed to making appearances for our fans; she was promoted beyond belief as the face of FTW… but once Steve came along, so did the excuses. Becky started missing appearances and wouldn’t even call me to tell me what had happened. When I called her, she said she was depressed about being away from home or she didn’t know if she could still be the face of the company… then she was sick… then she was helping Steve with his potential musical career… then Steve needed her to play bass in his band… it was ridiculous. And the thing that hurt me more than anything was that we made her schedule together; she knew where she was supposed to be, when she was supposed to be there, and what she was supposed to do. But days and weeks would go by, and I wouldn’t hear from her, then when I called her… it was, “Hey, how are you doing? I’ve been so busy helping Steve with blah blah blah.” I’d ask her if she was still going to help my with booking matches and still participate and she would still insist that she would do it. But she never gave me a timetable for her return and once again, days and weeks would go by… no Becky. I’d be so hurt because she told me she wasn’t like that; she said she was my friend and she would help me; she gave me her word and I gave her my company… and she let a little dick come between us.

The next time I called Becky to check on her, she said she and Steve were getting married. I was happy for her, but she didn’t mention the booking we were supposed to do. It was as if she had completely forgotten and that hurt me to the core because I had invested so much time in making Becky Star a star, that I never saw this coming. When you’re top star decides to throw you under the bus and let you down like that, what do you do? Fans wanted to see Becky Star; she wasn’t showing up and they didn’t know hardly anyone else. It was like someone pulled the rug out from under FTW and because she had so much to do with the booking and creative direction of everything else, I was lost. I brought up the booking and things with FTW I needed help with, and she said she’d be back. A few weeks passed… no Becky. I called her again, she talked about Steve non-stop. Lucky was still in the company; Taboo was still in the company, and they both were performing a full schedule and working all their dates. Lucky and I had a few conversations about Becky and I started to really push Lucky and Taboo… of course, that’s when Becky came back. I felt like everything was right in the world; she booked three shows and fought three matches against girls who I put her up against just so that she could knock the rust off… you know; girls who couldn’t beat her on her worst day. Then Steve came to a show and Becky left before it was even over to go drinking with her fiancé. Once again at the next few shows and booking meetings… no Becky.

There’s something called “being considerate.” If you’re getting married or if you’re busy… fine. That’s understandable because life will be life, but don’t lead me on. If you can’t do something anymore or you make a commitment and you can’t fulfill it, at least be woman enough to tell me that you can’t, instead of telling me that you still can and then, disappearing. And another thing, and that’s what’s most important in this situation, real friends check on each other. It’s not some one way process where someone new comes along and you figure that you have to cut everyone else loose to be with him. I felt gutted and betrayed by Becky after everything that we had shared and all the conversations we’d had. If she had come to me and told me that she couldn’t fulfill her obligations, I would’ve been fine with it and it would’ve given me time to deal with it and come up with something else. But I held my company up for her to come back. Not anymore. About a week ago, OPW, the biggest female fighting federation in the world right now, came to Dallas and one of their scouts, a geeky looking guy named Andre who was always looking at his laptop, even while talking to me, came to Fort Worth to talk to me about the talent we had, in particular, Lucky, Becky, and Taboo… my three biggest draws. I was very worried that OPW, with their bottomless pockets of money, would come through and swipe my three best workers, making me and FTW a complete failure… but that’s not what happened.

Andre said that OPW wanted to buy my promotion and expand it because they had a massive overflow of talent and needed places for it to go. I didn’t understand why my little promotion got so much acclaim from a huge one like OPW, but Andre said that the owner, legendary fighter Siena Blaze, liked the initials FTW. Go figure. I was ready to pour my heart out to Andre and tell him that we hardly had anything; we were losing far more money than we were taking in, and he told me that he already knew that. He was looking at my numbers on his laptop screen while having a chat session with Tracy, who’s a former intern of Siena’s who moved up to being on the board of directors. He had a check in his hand to buy FTW from me and I told him that I really needed to think about it. This was all I had from my marriage and my ex gave it up because it wasn’t working for him, but I couldn’t abandon the girls like Becky had abandoned me. And what about Becky? That was another issue… she was the FTW champion and was under contract… and she was acting like she didn’t know it.

Andre said he was instructed to stay in Ft. Worth until I made a decision, so I saved him the trouble and told him that I would sell FTW to him, as long as I could have a job with the organization. He offered me something better… he told me that Siena wanted me to fly out to Los Angeles and talk to her about a role within OPW itself, where I could still run FTW, have the help and funding I need, and help with creative and the board of directors in OPW. He told me that with every federation they’ve bought, they’ve kept the staff members who care about the product and quality. So, I told him about Becky and that situation and he started hacking away at his laptop’s keyboard… silence. Then he smiled and said, “We’ll make sure she shows up at your next show. This will easily be your biggest event and Becky will be defending the title.” I looked at him funny, and he just looked at the screen, then back at me and nodded. I sold FTW to OPW for two million dollars; that was the number Andre offered and maybe I should’ve held out for more money, but I was going to have a job with them anyway. Plus, two million dollars for FTW? I was barely breaking even at the end of each month, and that’s after it got popular in Texas.

So that brings us to tonight and my brief, but blunt speech to the talent. Becky came in with her bags and she got her gear on, doing her stretches and everything. I still had no idea who she was going to be fighting; at this point, I would’ve broken out my costume and fought her after everything she’d put me through. All those times I kept calling her, not necessarily because she said she would help me, but also because she was my friend and I wanted to make sure she was okay. That’s what friends, real friends do… but very few people understand that. You fall in love and you forget all about everyone else, all the things that you said you would do… you make one promise at the alter, that 60% of the time ends in divorce, and you end up breaking all those other ones. Becky is just as “matter of fact” and bubbly as ever. She’s acting like everything’s a-okay and as if she talked to me yesterday or something. I know they’re paying her a pretty big chunk of change for this fight and maybe, that’s what got her here. The card goes great; everyone performs to the best of their abilities and Lucky defeated Daisy Kickins in a great match while Taboo choked out War Hog. The time came for the main event, “Becky Star defending the FTW World Title against To Be Announced.” I am still nervous even as “All Star” by Smash Mouth plays and Becky comes out, her blonde hair in a ponytail, her usual Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit of a blue bra, white shorts showing off her tanned toned abs and small outie navel with a star studded belt, and her white boots. The crowd is cheering Becky as she smiled with her perfectly white teeth and waves, taking the microphone and talking in her light voice with defined Texas accent.

Becky- Well, I was told I have a mystery opponent. I’ve been away, but y’all know that I’m always ready for a fight. I don’t know who it is, but to be the champion and to hold this here FTW World Title belt, you’ve gotta be ready for anything. So whoever you are, I’m not gonna back down from ya!

“Five Minutes Alone” by Pantera plays, and out comes the surprise… 5’3” 115 lbs, shoulder length brown hair, big brown eyes and lots of tattoos and piercings. She’s wearing a red hoodie with the hood pulled up and covering her face in dark; the hoodie is short and stops right below her breasts, showing her somewhat toned abs and round small innie navel. She’s got on blood red hot pants and matching boots… Gemma Rox, OPW superstar, Ultimate Catfighter winner… and she’s walking to the ring looking angry and determined. Becky’s eyes widened when she saw Gemma, but she’s now looking like she’s okay with it… what choice does she have? Gemma yanks the hoodie off and she’s wearing a blood red top. The two women stare at each other; Becky is studying Gemma as if she’s looking at some kind of art piece, while Gemma’s eyes keep widening and her mouth keeps sneering. All the girls are huddled in the back watching; we didn’t know who was going to show up to fight Becky, so this caught us off guard.

The bell rings and the two circle each other, then lock up. Gemma is able to get the blonde Becky into a hammerlock, but Becky drops to her butt, causing Gemma to be pulled forward, then the blonde locks her legs around Gemma’s neck, forcing Gemma to release the hold and try to pry her neck free, but Becky spins and throws Gemma into the corner, her chest and chin taking the impact, with Becky landing with ease on her feet. Before Gemma can turn around, Becky launches herself into a cartwheel, then leaps forward with a dropkick, driving Gemma’s chest into the turnbuckle padding. Becky wraps her arms around the shorter girl’s waist and tries to pull her out of the corner for what I assume would be a German suplex, but Gemma stuns her with a back elbow, breaks the hold, turns around, doubles Becky over with a kick to the stomach, and goes for a Powerbomb, but Becky reverses it and hooks Gemma’s head, spinning and driving it down in a tornado ddt. With Gemma down on her stomach, Becky bends both the brown haired battler’s arms back and wraps her own arms around them, then she pulls Gemma up on her knees and bends her back while Becky assumes a seated position. I’ve never seen Becky use this move before; it seems like something Siena Blaze herself would use. It’s a comfortable submission hold, but Becky takes it a step further and wraps her legs around Gemma’s waist then hooks Gemma’s feet with her arms and rolls on her back… human hogtie.

“AHHHHHHH!!!! FUUUUUUCK!!!!!!” Gemma is screaming and I know she’s a screamer, but I’m worried about this match now. Gemma was brought in to win the title and get it off Becky because of Becky’s untrustworthiness, but it’s public knowledge in the fighting world that Gemma Rox is dealing with her own demons, most notably, an addiction to fighting and the pain of fighting.

“Do you give up, Gemma?” the ref says

“NOOOOOOO!!! FUUUUCK NOOOOOOO!!!” is what he gets in response and Becky’s eyes give away a look of concern as she glances up at the referee and feels her holds loosening. But Becky’s face takes on that look of determination that I’m quite familiar with being both her friend and boss and she tightens the holds, forcing more screams from Gemma, who starts pumping her legs and arms in an effort to get free. After ten minutes, Becky’s tightening her holds as much as she can, but the watering of her eyes and the gritting of her teeth give away the inevitable… Gemma powers out of Becky’s human hogtie, drops a forearm across the bridge of the blonde’s nose, mounts her and starts punching her face with shots. Becky reaches up and grabs Gemma, pulling the Welsh girl down on top of her belly to belly. I can see both women’s bodies heaving up and down with breath as Becky tightens her legs and rolls herself on top of Gemma, raining down punches while keeping her legs locked around and under Gemma’s body. Becky’s shots are fast and I can see Gemma’s got two nasty cuts over both her eyes and her nose is bleeding and her lips are busted. Becky seems really pissed off and Gemma is able to buck Becky and roll onto her stomach, but Becky (who’s moonlighted as a female bull rider) is able to just shift with her, now riding her back, and leans down, locking on a sleeper hold.

Gemma is coughing and sputtering, but gets to her hands and knees and with Becky still on her back, she gets to the ropes. Becky releases the hold and backs up, then comes in with some stomps and kicks to Gemma’s ribs. I’ve heard that Gemma screams a lot and groans loudly every time she gets hit, but seeing it in person is a different experience. Becky places Gemma’s neck across the middle rope with her arms hanging over it. Becky stands inside the ring with one leg on either side of Gemma’s body and holds the top rope. Becky pulls herself over the top rope, but twists and turns, bringing both feet into Gemma’s face, knocking both Gemma and herself through the ropes and back into the ring with Becky on top of Gemma. Becky wastes no time, getting up, bouncing off the ropes and doing a cartwheel, then a standing backflip across Gemma’s body, slamming her toned abs across Gemma’s and forcing an “OOOOOUUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!” from the shorter girl as Gemma rolls to a fetal position. Becky pulls Gemma to her knees, but Gemma slams a right hand into Becky’s stomach, right on her tiny outie navel

“Ooh!” cries Becky as she folds over, but straightens herself out just to get another hard shot to the same spot, “Ooh wee!!”

Becky backs up a bit as Gemma gets to her feet and raises her arms. Gemma steps in a fakes a left hook to Beck’s chin, then fires one to her ribs. The shot hurts the blonde and she looks at Gemma with pain in her eyes as Gemma fires a right hand over the top that slams into Becky’s fat left cheek and staggers her as Gemma grabs her head with her left hand and drives a knee into Becky’s stomach, forcing an “Oof!” from her as she doubles over and Gemma easy locks on an abdominal stretch and starts bringing her left fist down across Becky‘s stomach with hard shots that are buckling the blonde‘s legs. Finally, a hard shot just below the navel sinks in, and Becky’s legs give way and she drops to her knees with an “Omph!!” Gemma pulls Becky up with her arms wrapped around the blonde’s waist from behind… here they come, one German suplex, two, three, each one slamming Becky’s head, neck and shoulders to the canvas just for Gemma to roll them both back up and do it again. Five German suplexes later and Gemma goes for the pin, 1,2, Becky surprises all of us and kicks out… then she shoves Gemma back, bounces off the ropes and as Gemma is coming forward, Becky hits her with a snap front dropkick, surprising all of us, but going back down and holding her neck and back… and I wonder where was all of this heart she’s showing back when I needed her and she was “sometime-ing” me.

Becky’s feeling the effects of the suplexes and Gemma is up and moving in on her, but Becky springs from her knees and drives the point of her elbow right on Gemma’s tiny round innie navel and Gemma blows out air and folds over with an “OOONNNGGHHH!!!” Becky immediately rolls Gemma up in a small package, 1, Gemma violently kicks out. Both women rest for a moment, their heads next to each other with their bodies stretching in opposite directions. They both get to their knees and exchange punches to the face, but Gemma hits Becky with an uppercut to her stomach that forces an “OOF!!” from Becky and knocks the blonde to her feet as Gemma gets to her own feet and Becky leans against the ropes. Gemma rushes and Becky expects a clothesline, so she ducks, but I see Becky give that attractive “deer in headlights” look as Gemma lowers her head and spears/tackles Becky and both women go through the ropes and to the ring floor.

“AAAHHHH!!!!” Becky cries as her back hit’s the padded floor. Those pads can absorb a good deal, but at that speed, they may as well not have even been there.

“FUCK!! FUCK!!! FUCKKKKK!!!!” Gemma is down and holding her head…she’s busted open. Becky is up and holding her back as Gemma sees that and gets to her feet. Becky jumps onto the barricade and goes for a cross body on the shorter girl, but Gemma catches Becky and runs, ramming Becky’s back into the steel ringpost, then spins Becky and grabs her throat, slamming her down in a spinning choke slam. The ref is trying to get them both back in the ring, but Gemma places Becky in a seated position against the ring steps. Gemma rushes Becky and goes for a running dropkick, but Becky moves and I see Gemma’s right ankle bend at an awkward angle when her feet hit the steel. Gemma is down and screaming in pain… it sounds more like growling as she holds her ankle and Becky pulls her up and rolls her into the ring. Becky is holding her back with one hand and the tears are flowing from her eyes, but she places Gemma’s right foot on the ropes and stands on it, then pulls a page out of Rachel Apache’s book and jumps, slamming her fit butt down on Gemma’s hurting leg.

“AHHH!!! FUCK!!!” Gemma cries, but Becky turns around and locks Gemma’s legs with her own in a figure four leglock. The crowd is stomping and cheering; it’s split about even between fans who want to see Becky beat Gemma and defend our title and those who want Gemma to take down Becky’s sweetness. That’s the thing about having two “good guys” face off; the fans will be split. Becky is the squeaky clean face of FTW who doesn‘t cheat and when she‘s here, she gives her all in the ring; Gemma is the newest star in the biggest promotion in the world with a cutting edge hardcore appeal and a never surrender attitude. Even as close as Becky is to the ropes and with the ref leaning over Gemma to ask for her submission, Becky doesn’t use the ropes to cheat and get more leverage. She’s just sitting up and looking at Gemma, but Gemma is using pure arm strength to inch back and pull Becky to the ropes on the opposite side of the ring. Becky is trying to pull back and once that happens, Gemma rolls both women over, putting the pressure on Becky’s legs… then, what is this? Gemma is standing and crossing Becky’s legs around her right leg… I heard about Gemma’s time with Rachel Apache, but I wonder how Rachel would feel if she knew Gemma was using Rachel’s finisher, the sharpshooter… but Gemma’s right ankle is hurt bad and her leg gives way, freeing Becky, who gets to her feet, bounces off the ropes, grabs and jumps with Gemma’s head from behind, driving it into the mat in a bulldog. Becky rolls Gemma over and goes for the pin, 1,2, Gemma kicks out.

Becky may have been gone, but if there was any rust on her coming into this match, it must’ve been a little bit. But Becky is tired and she’s up and resting on the ropes; she’s not following up on Gemma and Gemma is up and stalking her. Becky is circling and takes a hard jab to the pit of her stomach, then another, then another and a right hand to the same spot followed by a left hook to her ribs. Becky exhales and I see her look at Gemma with tired pain etched in her eyes, her arms out a bit, trying to grapple with Gemma and Becky is able to get her hands on Gemma’s shoulders, but Gemma lowers her head Joe Frazier style and starts hammering Becky’s ribs and stomach, forcing the blonde to back into the corner and cover her face, but an uppercut under Beck’s chin sends blood flying from her mouth while a hard left hook to her right eye starts instant swelling. I have to admit; I feel sorry for Becky. She’s my friend… sometimes. Gemma is continuing to work that body and hooks Becky’s head, slamming knee after knee into her softening stomach and forcing loud “OOUUGGHHH!!!” noises from the champion while her supporters are starting to get quiet and Gemma’s fans are getting louder and louder.

Gemma pulls Becky up on her shoulders and starts to jump up and down, pulling on Becky’s neck with her left hand and her ankles with her right hand… torture rack… Becky is screaming, but she won’t submit; her back is already pretty damaged, and Gemma jumps, yanking Becky off her shoulders and driving her down across her knee in a backbreaker… a Gemma Rox signature move. Becky is rolling around in excruciating pain, but when Gemma covers her, Becky kicks out just before the 3 count. Gemma pulls Becky to her feet, kicks Becky in the stomach and the blonde doubles over with an “UUUGGGHHH!!” then Gemma places Becky’s head between her legs, pulls her up onto her shoulders and starts spinning. I hear the crowd humorously going “WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOE” while Gemma spins and Gemma slams Becky hard in a spinning Powerbomb. Becky grabs the back of her head with both hands and shakes violently, but Gemma stands and turns Becky over by her legs, sitting down and putting the blonde in a Boston Crab. Five minutes… ten minutes… fifteen minutes… twenty minutes and Becky still hasn’t given up yet. Gemma is screaming at her to give up, but Becky refuses to do it. Becky has no energy left and we can all see that; she’s not even flailing her arms yet. She only has enough energy to shake her head from side to side when she asked if she submits. I jump as I see someone next to me who I think is Marie B… she’s 4’11”, blonde hair and blue eyes; she looks just like her, but her face is a little rounder and her hair is longer… she looks like Hayden Panettierre this is Marie’s twin sister, Beth B. or Invinci-Beth. What is she doing here? Whatever it is, she doesn’t look happy with what she’s watching.

Gemma pulls Becky up, and piledrives her into the mat… shit… Becky’s body goes limp and Gemma pins her, 1,2,3... Gemma Rox is now the FTW World Champion and the EMTs are coming… I watch as Becky is put on a stretcher as Gemma takes the microphone, soaked in her own blood.

Gemma- Fucking well right!! I’m the reigning Ultimate Catfighter and now, I’m the FTW World Champion!! That’s more success in a shorter amount of time than Kayla or Jessika and unlike that little bitch, Marie B., or that Queen cxnt Samantha, I fucking earned it!! But FTW… those initials pretty much have defined my life. I have to admit; I don’t know what FTW stands for here, but to me, it means Fuck The World. Siena Blaze told me that if I won this belt, it would become OPW’s version of the Hardcore title, meaning the belt can be only be anywhere, anytime, against anybody… well, that’s what I’ve had to deal with my whole life. All these crazy arse bitches are always trying to take me down!! It seems like the whole world is against me… well, fuck the world, ha ha haaaa!!!!! ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

I hadn’t even noticed Beth had entered the ring with a chair and bashed Gemma in the back of the head. Beth takes Gemma’s microphone while Gemma is down.

Beth- Usually, I wouldn’t attack my opponents from behind, especially not with a weapon. But after watching what you did to this girl, I don’t feel like sparing you ANY sympathy. You didn’t spare my sister, Marie any sympathy and you constantly run your mouth and continue to hold the same stupid grudges. Memo to Gemma Rox: GET OVER IT, BITCH!! You want people to like you, but just like the match you just won, you take it too far. She was beaten… Sage had sympathy on you and you turned on her after she let you go. Well, I’m not going to be so polite to you, Gemma. You need a lesson in humility.

Beth places the chair over Gemma’s back across her kidneys and gets on the top rope, doing her sister’s gymnast Y pose… Beth does a Marie B., flipping off the top rope twirling and landing her full weight down on the chair in the Y pose.

Gemma- YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

Beth rolls Gemma on her back and stomps on her stomach, leaving her foot there as the ref counts 1,2,3... Now Beth is the FTW World Champion… I sell my company and in one card, we’ve had two title changes in a five minute stretch. Beth takes the tattered gold belt and the microphone and backs up as Gemma looks at her.

Beth- Hey Gemma… it isn’t Fuck The World anymore… it’s FUCK YOU.

“Actually Beth… it’s fuck you.”

Beth- Huh? Who said thhhhUUUnnNNNnnHHH!!!!

The 5’2” 120 lb whitish blonde haired, blue eyed Jonica smashes a banjo across Beth’s head and covers her as a random referee counts 1,2,3... What has my company become? Oh yeah, it’s not mine anymore. Jonica grabs the belt and jumps over the barricade, disappearing in the crowd. Beth slowly gets to her feet, her blonde hair now more orange from her blood, and Gemma approaches. Gemma decks Beth with a hard punch to the jaw, knocking her into the EMTs, who’ve just arrived. Beth gets up, but is restrained while Gemma is also restrained and both women are led off in opposite directions. I go to see about Becky. I know maybe I shouldn’t, but I have to… that’s what friends are for, right? She’s being put into an ambulance and she smiles at me.

“They’re saying I don’t have anything major,” she mutters, “but they want to take me to the hospital and I have to stay overnight as a precaution.”

“I’m glad you’re okay,” I say

“I’ll be back, Elvira; I promise,” she says… and the doors close and the ambulance pulls off. I don’t know if Becky Star will ever wrestle again… or if I’ll even get an invitation to her wedding. I would hope that this story has some value to someone. If you’ve got a friend, and you claim that you are a friend, don’t leave that person hanging. Friends don’t do that. Be honest if you can’t do something; speak your mind and don’t be afraid to hurt a friend’s feelings because a friend will understand. I was Becky’s friend, but she wasn’t mine… she just said she was. I wish Becky all the happiness in the world in her marriage, and if she does come back to the ring, I wish her all the best in that. But for me, it’s a new venture and new stars to mold.

The End?

thanks, Kayla; the events in this story have an effect on another on-going series lol; I'm delighted to give Jonica a belt too... for however long she can hold it.

Wow... I'm a curious mix of entertained and enthralled HC, you never cease to amaze me with your skill! it was yet another mastercrafted peice of wrestling glory, the action was fluid and faultless, the characters were rich and meaningfull (painfully so) and the twists were fantastic! As always I'm honoured you used me as a character and it's great to see Jonica win a belt!!! (if only we could find a way of making her wear it around her mouth...) plus you've built up the fued between me and Beth nicely! It's great to see how you interweave so many characters from so many stories so cleaverly, really it could be a tv show the way you arc yoru characters and your plots!

fantastic work

I'm paranoid and needy. So I think people are talking about me, but not as much as I'd like.

Great story, Howard!  It would be great even if I didn't beat up a certain Canadian gymnast's sister!

Thanks Gemma and Jonica! And Jonica, I'd sleep with that belt, if I were you... also, I don't know if you saw the last chapter I did of "Rivals" with Marissa "The Fighting Honor Student" Simmons... you snuck up behind her and hit her in the head with a banjo... I'm glad you guys like it and I think I know where I'm going with this. Queen of the Ring should be interesting now that this Jonica vs Beth vs Gemma rivalry has started.

I hadn't read this before, I've been busy and overlooked it. What a treat I denied myself. Well written and excellently plotted and with a cast of great characters!

I suppose it goes without saying I enjoyed this, I'm an unabashed fan of everything HC writes, but I wanted to mention "FTW" is the best name for a wrestling federation I have EVER heard.

Thank you to both of you.  :)

I'm not too fresh on my knowledge of professional wrestling history... at least, not as much as I was ten years ago, but I think the original ECW came from a fed named FTW. I know they brought back the FTW title and Taz held it... that's sort of what made me decide on a "hardcore" belt. And with so many characters full of bitterness, a Fuck The World title seemed appropriate lol. I'm not finished with Becky, Lucky, or Taboo by a long shot either, but it's all about having time.

Just one more thing that we had back then that is far better then than it is now.... wrestling.
