“All In Love Is Fair” by Stevie Wonder
All is fair in love
Love’s a crazy game
Two people vow to stay
In love as one they say
But all is changed in time
The future no one can see
The road you leave behind
Ahead lies mystery
But all is fair in love
I had to go away
A writer takes his pen
To write the words again
That all in love is fair
All of fate’s a chance
It’s either good or bad
I tossed my coin to say
In love with me you’d stay
But all in war is so cold
You either win or lose
When all is put away
The losing side I’ll play
But all is fair in love
I should have never left your side
A writer takes his pen
To write the words again
That all in love is fair
A writer takes his pen
To write the words again
That all in love is fair…
“No Love”
Marie has no love for Samantha. But to say that Marie B. hates Samantha would be inaccurate. The 4’11” 94 lb blonde haired, blue eyed Canadian used to have love, but all things change, as change is the only constant. Now, she doesn’t see Samantha or even acknowledge her existence. Marie is a former two time OPW World Champion and has been the Television champion for over four years. She’s feuded and fought just about every fighter who’s matter out there; her list of opponents is a list of most of the best fighters of the passed six years, and some unknowns, singers and actresses, but her feud with Samantha is more meaningful because it has extended beyond your computer screen as you’re reading this and into the world that exists when you turn your computer off and live your real life. Marie doesn’t just have no love for Samantha; she has no love for anything associated with Samantha. The reason why Marie posted in a thread of mine on my birthday, but didn’t wish me a Happy Birthday when everyone else who posted did is because she has no love for Samantha. The reason why Marie hasn’t commented on my last six posts is because she has no love for Samantha. In fact, Marie won’t even type Samantha, even when quoting her “fuck you” to Gemma Rox. All in love is fair, but Marie and Samantha’s feud is anything but fair.
In the two and a half years Marie and I wrote together, she did more for Samantha than any other writer who’s ever handled her. But things went south and the feud between them became real. When Marie got here, she feuded with Kayla and Peccavi, but when she started playing in my world, one of her first victories was over Samantha. Marie outwrestled and submitted Samantha, who knew very little about wrestling and was more into her boxing. At the time, Marie was green as well, but a green wrestler will beat a somewhat experienced boxer in a wrestling match, despite Marie giving up ten inches and a little more than fifty pounds to her opponent. I remember Marie messaging me and joking saying that a White girl’s fantasy must be to beat up a Black girl and she did. The second time Marie fought Samantha, Samantha won. Marie had completely underestimated the improved Samantha, and despite Marie still outwrestling her, Samantha reversed Marie’s submission hold and got a pin. The next time they would face off would result in Samantha attacking Marie in Marie’s own house, only to be beaten up by Marie to the point of tears and begging Marie to let her go, then Marie stripped Samantha naked and sent her rolling down the street hogtied in a wagon. The fourth time, they would fight in dresses in a parking lot and Samantha would batter a depressed Marie into a sobbing pleading submission. The series is tied 2-2 as of this writing. I’ve asked Marie if she wanted to do a fifth match and she told me that while she had no problem if I did it or anyone else did, she had no interest in writing a match. Why? Yup, you guessed it… because she has no love for Samantha.
Samantha has no love for Marie, but it wasn‘t always that way. Samantha helped put Marie over in OPW and after losing to her the first and second time, Samantha was more than happy to admit defeat, the same way she did when she lost to Kayla. Samantha, Kayla, Marie, and Jessika all had a respect for one another at a time, but Samantha came to realize that she was different. She came to realize that her words was more cutting and more hurtful than the words of others and she couldn’t figure out why, but she knew that she was more popular for it. Samantha has accepted her role as the biggest villain in OPW and a mouthy Queen who debuted that attitude in England, of all places. Samantha sees Marie as being the beneficiary of a double standard where Marie can say whatever she wants and betray whomever she wants, but is still loved while Samantha is vilified. If you ask Samantha why that is, she’ll tell you it’s because Marie is a little White girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, ignoring the fact that the Persian Rachel Apache and the biracial Glory are both more popular than Marie and neither of them are White. Why would Samantha do that? She does it to piss you off.
Samantha doesn’t feel she’s been treated very fairly. Jenn Peccavi promised her a fight for two years and Peccavi never delivered, ultimately admitting that it made no sense for a famous wrestler like Samantha to fight Jenn, who was an everyday girl and an everyday fighter… of course, “Rocky” kinda was based off something like that, but Samantha has ripped at Jenn in her promos because while Jenn didn’t fight her, she fought Marie six times and only lost once. Samantha was supposed to fight Stacy Simmons, a member of Mikey Roberts’ team, the Kick Ass Angels, but that fight never happened after Samantha cut a promo that Mikey felt crossed the line. She took a whip to her face from Madame Sin and got her navel squeezed by Jenn, but never got the matches she was told she would have. In fact, Gemma Rox was originally going to write this match, but Gemma’s taking care of some very important real life business, far more important than this… however, the fact that Gemma didn’t do the match only adds to the Samantha Curse and gives Samantha‘s eventual feud with Gemma another odd unofficial aspect to it.
But all in love is fair, and life goes on; everybody is over that and so is Samantha. One thing that you have to learn early in life is that stuff happens and plans change and there’s no point to holding a grudge about it. Just always be professional and if you can’t do something, be upfront and honest. However, to be the villain and to make people want to pay to see you get your ass kicked requires bringing stuff up that irritates folks. Even if it’s 90% fantasy, Sam the person will tell you that 10% of reality is more than enough to make people want to see you drawn and quartered and writers bury you in their stories. It blurs the line between fantasy and reality and makes her villainy more realistic and more insulting, and she loves it. Samantha would be happy if she never fought Jenn or Stacy; she doesn’t have to mention their names in promos and she doesn‘t, but she loves using the stories of her being ducked and avoided and tough bring it on fighters not facing her due to little things and words… because Peccavi and the Kick Ass Angels are loved by the same fans who boo her and respected and followed by readers like you… just like Marie. But even when Marie was a heel, even when Marie was calling this one a slut and that one a bitch, everyone still had love for her and everyone still does. And Samantha hates that. While Marie fights whoever’s in front of her or whoever wants to fight her, Samantha picks and chooses who she fights and fights in a super elusive style that aggravates her opponents because she engages when she wants to. And that is why, despite coming in together and helping each other get popular, Samantha and Marie have no love for each other.
Both women have gone on to bigger things and better things. Samantha is the biggest heel in OPW and has been in a lot of other author’s stories. She’s the perfect mix of skill, vulnerability, and a mouth that won’t quit inside of an exotic body and extravagant lifestyle. Marie has continued to evolve as a fighter and never has a shortage of opponents, whether professional fighters, common folk, or people she was hired to take down. Her relationship with Kayla and Rachel is still strong, despite Kayla and Rachel’s dislike for each other… a dislike that had Marie absent in New Orleans when the two finally had a match. Despite her attitude and some of her actions, Marie is still viewed as a friendly, squeaky clean virgin of the dirty world that so many fighters dealt in. Marie has just the right mix of naiveté and determination mixed with natural athleticism and a love for submission holds to make her one of the most popular fighters out there… and Marie the writer is as good as they come. No one can take her talent away from her because it’s tattooed to her heart. Because Marie has no love for Samantha, Marie didn’t want this match, but I can tell you that Marie the writer and I talked years ago about what would happen if she and Samantha ever had a fifth fight. While I’m primarily writing this, with OMG aiding me with some aspects of it, Marie is the one who picked the winner and the “flow” of the match years ago. The match had to happen to bring end to the realest feud a fantasy world has ever seen. Here we go…
“Hail to the Queen” by Queen Latifah hits as the boos explode from the Philadelphia faithful, and out comes Samantha. Once again, the multiracial Samantha is 5’9” 144 lbs, with honey skin, long curly red hair, aqua green eyes with dimples in her fat cheeks and a cleft in her chin, and she’s wearing a flaming red collared armless lycra top, with flame designs that are only visible when the light hits them. She’s wearing a pair of bell bottomed shiny pants that are a bit high above her waist, showing off her beautiful honey stomach, but well above her golfball sized outie navel. The pants are a dark shade of red with black flame designs and Sam is wearing black shoes with red flaming tips and black grappling gloves with red flame designs on the palms and tiny flames on each of the knuckles. The spit and curses are flying at Samantha as she makes her way to the ring, sighing and rolling her eyes as the fans give the biggest heel (bad guy) in the wrestling world a Philly greeting. Samantha does her traditional one raised fist and smile, flapping her hair as the fans get louder and louder. Samantha tests the ropes and settles into a corner as a “YOU SUCK DICK” chant breaks out.
“Instant Karma” by John Lennon plays, and those boos quickly change into cheers as the barefoot 4’11”, 94 lb, blonde haired, blue eyed two time OPW World Champion and reigning OPW Television Champion, “Superfly” Marie B. makes her way to the ring in only a gold bikini. The champion looks fit with her abs showing some feminine definition as a trickle of sweat runs from between her breasts to her penny sized perfectly round innie navel. Marie grabs the top rope and flips into the ring with the large silver championship belt draped around her shoulder as the crowd goes wild. The two women lock eyes and there’s an acknowledgement by both of them of the other’s presence. Samantha and Marie’s facial expressions differ; Marie blindly hands the referee her title belt and looks at Sam with a “well, you wanted this” annoyed expression followed by a look of focused determination, while Samantha’s comes out of the corner and tests the ropes one more time, looking at her shorter foe with a sneer and a wink.
The bell rings and Marie comes out, taking center ring with her legs bent and her arms up while Sam holds her lead left hand low, her right hand up and near her chin and her legs spread apart. Because Marie hasn’t wanted anything to do with Samantha in years, she hasn’t really watched any of her matches or fights during that time, so she fires a leg kick that just misses Sam’s left thigh and then, Marie shoots in looking to take the redhead down, but Sam grabs the blonde by her shoulders and turns her away, shoving her into the ropes and backing up. Marie is a bit surprised that Samantha doesn’t follow up, but Marie’s attitude has been that this is a fight she didn’t want and Samantha is the one who has something to prove while Marie is interested in continuing her win streak and keeping her title. Marie fires another leg that catches Sam just above the left knee, but Sam grabs Marie’s foot with her left hand and fires a right hand that is partially blocked by Marie’s left hand, but hit’s the corner of the little blonde’s mouth. When Marie lowers her left hand and Samantha draws back her right hand, Sam lands a quick right hand just below Marie’s left eye just as Marie’s right fist connects with Sam’s chin, forcing the redhead to let go of the blonde’s left leg and back up. Marie immediately bounces forward, ramming her head into Samantha’s solar plexus and with an “Ulf!” Sam goes down on her butt. Marie knows from previous fights that Sam is limited on the ground and doesn’t think that Sam could’ve improved that much, so she dives on Sam, but catches a kick to her own solar plexus that knocks her back up on her feet as Sam gets to hers and circles away, her eyes a bit wider as Marie moves forward.
Samantha feels her back touch the ropes, and as Marie moves forward to grab her, Sam fires a hard jab that snaps the blonde’s head back. Marie repeats the same motion, but when the second jab comes, the little blonde ducks under it, grabbing Sam around her waist and lifting her up. But Samantha locks on a guillotine, hooking Marie’s head under her left arm… only for Marie to show her deceptive strength, pull Sam away from the ropes and throw her over her head in a northern lights suplex… 1, Sam kicks out. Marie does a backwards roll and mounts Sam, but the redhead drives both knees into Marie’s back, knocking her off and slides out from under Marie, grabs her from behind in a side headlock. Marie rams several hard shots into Sam’s right kidney and Sam starts to groan and loosens the hold, before running forward and attempting a bulldog on Marie, but Marie shoves Sam hard and Sam runs chest first into the turnbuckle. In the previous fights between these two, Marie often fired shots into Samantha’s kidneys and this is a tactic that has continued to work for the blonde.
Marie is up very quickly and charges in on Sam while she’s resting in the corner. Marie slams hard shots into Sam’s back, kidneys and ribs from behind as the crowd goes wild. Marie picks her taller and heavier foe up and sits her on the top turnbuckle, then leaps onto the top turnbuckle. Marie throws her legs around Sam’s neck and throws her off the top turnbuckle into the ring in a reverse frankensteiner. Samantha’s face, chest, stomach and legs slam into the mat as Marie climbs back up to the top and once Sam gets to her feet, the little blonde greets her with a missile dropkick from the top ropes, sending the redhead across the ring rolling and ending up on her back. Marie gets on the ring apron and jumps on the top rope, balancing herself before flipping off and spiraling down on Samantha’s stomach, driving the air out of the redhead with an “OUGH!” 1,2, Sam kicks out.
Marie stands over Sam and prepares to stomp on Sam’s stomach, but Sam slams an elbow across Marie’s left foot, and as the blonde lifts it up, Samantha grabs her by her bikini bottoms, pulling them forward and down (and giving the crowd a glimpse of Marie’s pubic hair), yanking the blonde through the ropes and out of the ring. Samantha slides out of the ring and as Marie gets up, Sam hits her with a spinning backfist that knocks the little blonde clean off her feet. A chant of “FUCK YOU SAM” starts as the fans are giving the redhead the business as she mounts Marie and fires seven hard shots into her face, pulls her to her feet and slams the back of her head into the steel ring steps. Sam forces an “OOF!” from Marie when she stomps on the blonde’s stomach, then she pulls the still doubled over Marie to her feet, lifts her up, drops her face first across the ring apron and when Marie shoots off, Sam nails a sidekick to her jaw that sends her into the steel barricade. Samantha lifts Marie up in a gorilla press and throws her into the crowd, who catch her, of course. The fans are really taunting Samantha and cursing, spitting and yelling at her; she thinks about it… she thinks about it… she does it. She balances herself on the barricade and jumps off, but before she can make her move, Marie jump kicks her in the pit of the stomach, forcing a loud “OUGGHH!!!” and Sam curls into a fetal ball in midair, banging her body against the steel barricade and down on the mat. A male fan pours his beer on Samantha, but Marie angrily knocks the cup away and shoves the guy back.
Marie pulls Samantha to her feet and does a standing dropkick, knocking the redhead back over the barricade. Samantha gets to her feet just as Marie dives off the barricade and knocks the redhead back with a double axe handle blow to her face. Marie jumps, placing one foot on the ring apron and launching a flying roundhouse kick at Samantha, but while Samantha buckles when the foot slams into her left side, she grabs Marie by her neck with both hands and jumps, landing in a seated position and slamming Marie down on her back in a sitdown double handed choke slam. Samantha takes a moment to hold her left side and hiss as Marie’s eyes are circling and her mouth is open. Samantha pulls Marie to her feet and slides her into the ring with everything above Marie’s navel in the ring and everything below it either on the ring apron or dangling outside the ring. Samantha stands on the ring apron with a foot on either side of Marie’s waist, then she grabs the top rope and flips herself over, slamming her crotch onto Marie’s head, then reaching back and pulling her legs in, 1,2, Marie kicks out. Samantha calls this move the Moneymaker, and she usually uses it to exit the ring, not enter it. Samantha grabs Marie by either side of her hair and bangs her head into the mat three hard times before sticking her fingers into Marie’s ears and shaking her head… this is a move Siena Blaze used against Marie during their locked door “I Quit” match (which Marie lost)… Siena calls the move Wax Works and while it’s an odd move, it’s effective because it throws off Marie’s equilibrium.
As Samantha continues to land shots to Marie’s face, the little blonde traps her legs around the redhead’s waist and squeezes while grabbing Sam’s head and pulling it forward in a can opener. Samantha just goes with it and lays on Marie, so the blonde hooks Sam’s head in a guillotine while alternating between firing hard lefts into Sam’s right side and slamming shots to Sam’s already aching right kidney. Marie can feel Sam softening and hear her exhaling more and more and she is able to roll the taller girl over and take the mount while keeping her legs around Sam’s waist. Marie sits up and starts firing shots into Sam’s face and when the redhead brings her arms up, the blonde starts going to Sam’s solar plexus and lands some choice shots to Samantha’s stomach, forcing some “Ooh” and “Ohhh” sounds as Marie knows better than anyone that Samantha’s stomach is fit, but her navel is extremely sensitive and Samantha has never really been able to take shots to the gut without buckling and moaning. In fact, both fighters are known for their susceptibility to stomach shots… and they both know this about each other and have played off of it through taunts and tactics… especially in their last two fights. But Samantha and Marie also are aware of each other’s wavering levels of confidence during a fight. They both talk a damn good game and they’re both great competitors, but they know better than most that on any given day, anyone can beat anyone.
Every punch Marie lands to Sam’s stomach has a silent message behind it. “I owe you. I beat you at your best before. I know your weaknesses. I am at my best. I am focused; I am not underestimating you; I am not depressed… I am at my best… and you can’t win.” Marie wants to get Sam lower, but she’d have to give up her body scissors to do so and she can feel Sam’s energy seeping out. Marie decides to attempt to force Sam’s shoulders down, but Sam comes out of her guard and pops the blonde with a straight right to her chin. As Marie stops to look at Sam, she eats another right hand that forces a little “Unnhh!” from her as it hits just above the outer corner of Marie‘s left eye and a dot of blood is seen. Sam sees her opportunity and she grabs Marie’s head with her left hand and pulls the blonde’s head down, firing right forearms across Marie’s left eye and temple. Marie groans loudly and releases her body scissors and tries to pull free, but by the time she does, the damage is done and Marie’s got a cut that’s stretching from where her left eyebrow meets the bridge of her nose to the vein near her left ear. Samantha recently went back to her martial arts teacher and became a first degree black belt in tae kwon do, after years of only being a red belt; black stripe. Her forearms can break through wooden boards and probably even cinder blocks now and as she gets to her feet to pursue Marie, who keeps wiping the running blood from out of her eye, she fires a hard sweeping kick to Marie’s left side, forcing an “Uhhh!!” from the buckling blonde who is immediately staggered back with a straight right to her nose and groans out an “Ugghh!!” from a left hook to her stomach, just above her navel.
Samantha hits Marie with a hooker-cut (this is also known as a submarine hook; it’s an underhanded punch thrown at a diagonal angle between where an uppercut and hook would be thrown; former boxers Oscar De La Hoya and Micky Ward used this punch effectively as did Roberto Duran) to her jaw that stuns her as Marie goes into the ropes, but moves out of the quickly as the forming mouse under her left eye is starting to get larger. Marie throws a combination of a left hook, right cross, left uppercut and an overhand right, but Samantha crosses her arms and tucks her chin behind her right hand while turning sideways and slips the punches, returning three viciously fast right hands to Marie’s cut eye and a hook to the stomach that forces air from the little blonde and backs her up. Marie knows that Samantha’s defense is extremely frustrating to figure out and it fit’s the persona she has assumed. The more punches Marie fires or the more she tries to shoot in, Samantha moves and blocks and counters with stinging right hands to the face, and hard left hooks to the body, or a jab to the stomach or a straight right hand there. And Marie is having more and more difficulty trying to figure the defense out.
Marie is a boxing fan; she’s seen Floyd Mayweather, Pernell Whitaker and Bernard Hopkins use this defense and she’s seen Samantha use this against Kayla and Rachel. Not to mention in their fourth meeting in an Atlanta parking lot, Samantha beat Marie up using this style of fighting, though she was just learning it. The irony is that this defense was created here in Philly by Philly fighters and is called the Philly Shell… so despite her having used it for almost six years now, the Philly fans are really angry with Samantha. And it should also be noted that three time world champion and gold medalist in women’s boxing and the first person to beat Rachel Apache in a sanctioned match, Nikky Smalls, is the one who taught Samantha the Philly Shell. Marie buried Nikky in an interview after Nikky lost to Allison Payne back when Marie herself was a mouthy heel and the OPW World Champion. Marie said that Kayla could easily beat Nikky, and while Marie hasn’t had a match with Nikky Smalls, Marie has watched Samantha use what Nikky taught her to defeat not only Marie herself, but Kayla as well. Kayla admitted losing to Samantha, but Marie has no love for Samantha and didn’t comment when Samantha beat Kayla. Marie is trying to ignore the feeling inside, but she remembers that Samantha called out Kayla; Samantha wanted to fight Kayla just like Samantha wanted to fight Marie and trained specifically for Marie’s style of fighting the same way she sparred with Kayla’s vindictive younger sister Dawn to get ready for Kayla.
A missed hook from Marie catches air; Samantha lands two jabs to the face, one in the stomach, a right cross to the cut over Marie’s left eye, a left hook to the solar plexus, and Sam backs up. Marie comes forward, throwing a hook, but Samantha sidesteps it and moves her head, firing a right hand to Marie’s jaw over Marie’s hook and Marie goes down, but instead of following up, Samantha casually circles around Marie while Marie gets up. Marie knows from the last fight she had with Samantha, and from Samantha’s last fight with Kayla, that having a striking contest with Samantha is a bad idea, but Marie also knows that Samantha is harder to get a hold of, and the more Marie will try to wrestle Samantha, the more Samantha will avoid it and the more punches she will land. As Marie circles and looks for an opening, Samantha lands a hard jab to the little blonde’s navel, bending her with an “Mmph!” then another, and another, and another, all to the navel, all sending a message to Marie before sticking a jab to Marie’s navel that makes the blonde go “whoosh!” and start to double forward, but Sam immediately fires a left hook to Marie’s jaw and a right hand to her mouth, knocking her into the ropes, before backing up and landing another jab to Marie’s stomach and moving back.
Marie charges forward, gets a knee to her solar plexus that forces out a loud “UHHHHH!!!!” staggering the blonde back as Sam moves in and lands two left hooks to Marie’s nose and one to her stomach on the navel, forcing out another “OOF!!” then a double right hand to the cut on Marie’s left eye, before pulling Marie into a muay thai clinch long enough to land a jumping knee to Marie’s forehead and with an “AHHH!!!” the blonde collapses to the canvas on her back. But Samantha doesn’t follow up; she backs up and waits for Marie to get back up as the crowd boos her loudly, starting a “MARIE B.” chant and a “WE WANT WRESTLING” chant. Marie gets to her feet and pursues Samantha, but Marie’s eyes widen as Samantha surprises her with a front kick to her stomach that forces an “OOOOOOOOOH!!!!” from her as she doubles forward, then Samantha lifts Marie up and body slams her. Samantha climbs the top turnbuckle and leaps off in a moonsault, but twists her body into a 450 flip and crashes across Marie’s weakened stomach…1,2, Marie kicks out. Samantha rolls around a bit as her own stomach took some impact, but the redhead gets to her feet and climbs another turnbuckle. Samantha seems to be resting before leaping off in a flipping leg drop, but Marie rolls out of the way and Samantha lands hard on her butt as the crowd cheers.
Marie slips behind Sam and locks her hands under the chin while placing both knees against the redhead’s back as Sam stands up, locking in a flying chinlock… the same move Marie beat Jolene Rictor with in their first match. Samantha is fighting the hold, but she drops back down on her knees with Marie now sitting on her feet in an effort to trap her legs. Samantha lets out an “AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!” as Marie pulls back hard and tears start to well up in Sam’s eyes as she can feel Marie’s nails cutting the soft flesh under her chin. Samantha rocks her body and both women go down on their left sides as Marie loses the pressure of her knees against Sam’s back. Sam rolls on her stomach and Marie sits on her back, pulling up on her chin in a move that Samantha uses all the time… the camel clutch. Samantha’s red hair is all over her face and Marie is even using it to choke her out even more as Samantha starts to claw towards the ropes. Marie drops some knees across Sam’s kidneys and with an exhale, Sam slows down. Sam does an angry pushup and gets to her hands and knees, then drops on her stomach, forcing Marie to be in a squat for a second before Sam slips between the blonde’s legs and gets to her feet, but Marie gets to her feet faster and fires a sidekick into Samantha’s stomach, right on her big outie navel, and with a wide eyed “GUUUUUHHH!!!” Sam doubles over and goes down on her knees.
Marie knows Sam is hurt from that shot and after wiping the blood from her face, Marie bounces off the ropes, runs towards Sam, flips while grabbing her head and lands in a seated position. Sam’s head and yanked back and then, shot forward and her face slams into the mat. Samantha gets to her feet, but staggers and tries to wipe her long hair out of her face while Marie moves in on her. Marie slams a left right left into Sam’s stomach, doubling the redhead over, then whips Sam to the ropes and drops her with a standing backflip dropkick. Marie lands on her feet, rushes the ropes, backflips off the middle rope and crashes both knees down on Samantha’s stomach, forcing out a scary-sounding “OOOCK!!!!” as the redhead curls up and spits blood out of her mouth. Marie stands over Samantha and places her bare foot on Samantha’s face, before stomping down on Sam’s face eight brutal times before the redhead rolls over on her stomach. Marie starts stomping on Sam’s kidneys as Sam rolls away; a kick to Sam’s mouth draws blood, a kick to the ribs halts the redhead as she gets to her knees and holds her aching stomach.
Marie grabs Sam by her hair, but Sam drives the point of her elbow into Marie’s stomach, a decimeter above her navel… “Uhhh” Marie groans, but she gets her hands into Sam’s hair as Sam turns and starts firing right hands into the little blonde’s exposed stomach, targeting the navel and making Marie’s eyes widen and her body jump with a series of twelve “OOFs” for the twelve right hands. Samantha sticks her index finger into Marie’s navel, presses down hard on the pressure point, and twists the finger as if it was a key opening a door. Marie lets out an “Ahhhhhhh!!!” as Samantha locks that finger in and claws her hand into Marie’s belly with a vicious belly claw. Marie starts punching Sam in her face as she’s doubled over, and Samantha gets to her feet just as Marie kicks her in the crotch, forcing an “AUGH!!” from the redhead, who’s legs buckle and an “UMMMMM!!!” from her as Marie connects with an uppercut that digs in just below Sam’s navel.
Samantha raises her arms as Marie moves in, and Samantha lets out a long “uhhhhhhhhh” exhaling and draping her arms around Marie’s shoulders, trying to hold the blonde as Marie loads up on some more body blows, but Sam tightens her arms around Marie and drives a knee into her stomach, forcing the wind from Marie in a “WULF!!” then jumping and pulling Marie’s head forward while landing in a seated position and driving Marie’s face and body down to the mat… face buster, vintage Samantha. Samantha rolls Marie over and lays on the blonde, folding her arms behind her head and resting it on Marie’s stomach in a relaxed pin, 1,2, Marie kicks out and rolls on her own stomach. Samantha stands and dodges a bottle that’s thrown at her head while security makes it way to ringside to escort the angry fan out. Samantha sits on Marie’s back and locks on a full nelson camel clutch, then after a minute of Marie’s refusal to surrender to Samantha, the redhead borrows a page out of Rachel Apache’s book and stands with the full nelson locked on, falling backwards and throwing Marie onto her neck and shoulders… camel clutch into tiger suplex… 1,2, Marie kicks out. Samantha sits with her hands on her hips as Marie is pulling herself towards the ropes. Samantha gets to her feet and as the crowd boos loudly, she walks over to Marie and stomps very hard on the small of the blonde’s back, forcing out a sound that’s as much whimper as it is groan.
Marie’s fist pounds the mat in pain as Samantha plays the crowd, stomping on the blonde’s back three more times and each time, pausing the look at the Philadelphia fans who are greeting her with cursing and middle fingers and stomping for Marie. Samantha hears the stomps, so she stomps on Marie’s back to that rhythm until the fans stop, then she grabs Marie’s legs and pulls her across the ring and as Marie starts to move towards the ropes again, Samantha lays on her stomach resting her chin on her hands and smiles at her little blonde foe. These two have never had a fight without some talking between them, but no words have been exchanged thus far as Samantha grabs Marie by her bra strap and her butt and throws her between the top and middle turnbuckles, causing Marie’s left shoulder to slam into the steel ringpost. Samantha grabs Marie from behind, but Marie mule kicks Sam between her legs, then sits on the top turnbuckle, jumps off with her legs around Sam’s neck and twists, throwing her to the mat in a hurracana. Marie rushes and kicks Samantha hard to her ribs, but the foot hooks around and gets Samantha’s stomach as well, forcing her to roll over on her back near a corner.
Marie hears the crowd cheering as she smiles and climbs the top turnbuckle, smiling and doing her Y gymnast pose, then flipping off twisting and spiraling and landing in that same pose on Samantha’s stomach as the redhead exhales… 1,2, Samantha’s foot is on the bottom rope. Marie pulls Samantha’s leg off the rope and drapes herself across the redhead… 1,2, Sam kicks out. Marie takes time to fire some lefts and rights into Samantha’s stomach and goes for another pin, 1, 2, Samantha kicks out again. Marie does this a lot during her matches; she goes for pins after a big move, but if her opponent kicks out, she repeatedly goes for more pins with little offense in between. Whether that’s frustration or disbelief or just making her opponent waste more energy, Marie has to realize that she’s wasting her energy too. And of course, she does; she pulls Samantha to a seated position and looks to lock on a sleeper from behind, but Samantha throws her head back, nailing Marie’s nose. Marie stands and Samantha bounces off the ropes, Marie bounces off the opposing ropes and the two are headed straight for each other, but Marie jumps, looking to leapfrog the taller girl, but Samantha catches her, lifting Marie’s right leg up and trapping it with her arms that are around Marie’s waist then throwing Marie backwards… cradle suplex or as we call it… the Sexyplex. Marie crashes to the mat and lies spread eagle as Samantha walks over to her and places one foot on her stomach while doing a pageant wave…1, 2, Marie kicks out.
Samantha pulls Marie to her feet and rams a submarine punch to Marie’s navel… Marie’s eyes widen as she lets out an “Unnnnnnnnnnnhhhhhh,” the air being driven from her as she folds over Samantha’s fist. Sam pulls her fist free and moves behind Marie, bringing her right arm around the blonde’s neck and pulling both of them down to the mat while wrapping her legs around Marie’s waist… Scissored Sleeper… Marie’s finishing hold, or rather, the hold she’s finished off the most opponents with. Marie knows that this is her move and that to lose to a woman she has no love for via her own finishing move would really be humiliating, but Marie has been humiliated far worse than this… still, this is Samantha. Marie tries to free herself, but the hold is far too tight; Sam’s legs are grinding up and down Marie’s stomach, dry humping the blonde as the crowd continues to scream and shout slurs and curses at the redhead, but really, the legs are pumping the air out of Marie. Marie knows what Samantha wants; she knows that Samantha has never beaten Marie when Marie was at her best. The first time Sam won, Marie underestimated her and the second time, Marie was depressed…
Marie has held the OPW Television Title for four years and has beaten Samantha twice. She didn’t want this match, but she took it because she knew she had to. She was at her best on this night and she gave it her all. Marie utters three words to the referee and the match ends. Those three words may have brought an end to the feud between Marie and Samantha as well, or at least the series of matches. Those three words are not the words Samantha would’ve preferred to hear from Marie, but they’re a submission none the less. Samantha wanted to hear, “you beat me”… Marie instead says, “I give up.” The biggest pet peeve we’ve had with Marie is her refusal to acknowledge… even in submission, the directness of the word “you” does not make it into her submission. Why? Because she has no love for Samantha. Whether or not Marie says or types “you beat me” or “she beat me” or “Samantha beat me” is entirely up to her.
Samantha releases Marie and the two women lock eyes as Samantha is given the OPW Television Championship. Usually in a moment like this, there may be a hug or a handshake or a smile or a nod, but Marie slides out of the ring while the boos pick up and Samantha hoists the belt above her head. Marie helped make Samantha and Samantha helped make Marie… they can’t hug. Samantha is the villain and Marie is one of the most loved wrestlers in the world. Beating and bloodying Marie in this fashion and posing with the title, waving and taunting the fans will only elevate Samantha’s heel status even more, while Marie’s gutsy performance will aid her when she enters the Queen of the Ring tournament and face another heel in the first round… Kayla’s younger sister, Dawn. And speaking of Dawn, as Marie is backing up the ramp, watching Samantha’s celebration and slapping hands with the fans while holding her stomach, Dawn attacks her from behind with a small rock hammer and the blonde collapses to the floor as the fans boo the 5’9” 140 lb black haired, green eyed Megan Fox looking Dawn. Dawn pulls Marie up, puts the blonde’s head between her legs and puts her own arms behind her head, rotating her hips, then she powerbombs Marie to the floor while pinning her arms down in a missionary position… this is Kayla’s finishing move; it’s called the K-Bomb. Life goes on and Dawn and Marie will meet at Queen of the Ring.
Dawn looks at Samantha and smiles. These two know each other very well and the crowd breaks into various angry chants at both of them. Dawn marks her new prey by pulling her pants down and cums on Marie’s face while Samantha watches… Heaven only knows how Marie’s lover and Dawn’s older sister, Kayla will react to this… she’s in the Queen of the Ring Tournament too. Kayla’s first round opponent is none other than her former lover Jessika’s adopted daughter and Dawn’s current girlfriend Seka. Dawn looks at Samantha and raises both hands, wiggling her hips while Samantha responds with shrugging her shoulders, grinning and raising her eyebrows. While there isn’t much explanation for whatever communication this is between Dawn and Samantha, but Dawn’s eyes widen as the crowd gets quiet. There’s an exchange of faces between Dawn and Sam as if Dawn’s trying to tell Sam something and when Sam turns around, Glory grabs her, reaches across her body, lifts her up and drives her to the mat in a Rock Bottom as the crowd goes wild. Glory stands over Samantha looking down as the crowd chants her name… Samantha complained that she’s never really had a shining moment in OPW because every time she does something special, it’s immediately overshadowed or interrupted by someone else. Why would this change? Samantha and Glory are long overdue for a feud.
All in love is indeed fair because love is a balance of a variety of emotions. It isn’t just a good feeling; it includes hate, jealousy, pride, and a never-ending sea of sadness. But in order to love, you have to care. Marie B. has no love for Samantha and Samantha has no love for Marie B., meaning they don’t care and now, they can move on to other things. Things may never be the same between Sam and Marie, or even me and Marie, but that is life and love and no love are as much a part of life as breathing. The match had to happen for a closure to a feud that clearly transcended fantasy and blended with reality. See you in Denver at Queen of the Ring.
