Hi Susan
I remember of you very well. We had some little exchanges of messages on various boards in the past years. And I could appreciate your point of view about catfighting every time.
You are the author of a little poem that synthetize very well what we both like in a catfight, even though you and me feel it from two different point of view. Please, forgive me if I publish it on this board but I guess it can be the best way trying to explain our feeling.

To my rival
by Susan Ondine

We roll round in a froth of lace,

Legs entwined, pulling hair,

You bite my shoulder, I scratch your face

It's female war and I don't care!

But in this battle of teeth and nails -

Our arms and legs going like flails -

The oddity is the feminine perfume

That floats above the conflict, the squeals

and choked breath, yes all round the room,

I woman rage out of control, it feels

Primeval, cruel, strong, yet beautiful

Like your breasts, obvious, thrusting

Against my own, the more bountiful.

But greedy fingers squeeze unlusting

And mark the soft white globes, once trusting

to a lover's caress which here is not.

We cling together, ah yes, lover-like,

But nipping teeth and raking claws,

Stabbing kicks, swinging slaps, they all incite

Retaliation in massive degree which draws

The climax of a hair and clothes-tearing frenzy,

Which if our man could see would have him cheering.

We'll fight again, you and I, this combat heats the blood

And I'll take you down again Kathleen to see who gets the stud.

In our disheveled states are we not endearing?

Clothes, skin and hair tell of our female brawling,

The wonder is that men find it so enthralling.

Thank you Gman for responding to my post about catballing in which I gave you and others a "dressing down".  Seriously, those black and white film clips you gave us were just so enhanced. What do you think is the explanation for this ?

I think in those times - we were past WW2 about 7 years - the relations amongst persons were more genuine. So you could have seen women of any social rank engage in hairpulling battle with any rival (for love, food, job, etc.). In the movies of this period called in Italy "Neorealismo" catfights are very frequent, more in the low class but also in the middle one.
In both the following clips you can recognize the actress Lucia Bosè. In the first one (Le ragazze di Piazza di Spagna - 1952) the two girls belong to a low social class and compete for same boyfriend. In the second one (Accadde al commissariato - 1954) wife and mistress fight for the wife's fur that the husband gave to the mistress.

Watching various fight on the net, I can never understand why in some cases the spectators try to discourage girls from hair pulling.  Shouts of stop hair pulling takes away the essence of a female fight and encouragement just to throw punches to face just ruins it.  Fist fighting is not feminine, that said I would never wish to see a woman hurt, perhaps a strange contradiction as I like to see them fight. I think things can be settle without drawing blood or severe bruising.  The sight of ladies pulling hair and matching breasts against breasts and tangling legs is sexy enough.

I agree 100%, but most younger women fist fight like guys anymore. Your right that isn't feminine at all. Two women yanking hair and rolling around is so so sexy and feminine

Catfighting is the way it should be settled Leave the fist for the guys

If women fight, they will end up on the floor

i love it when women talk about catfighting  it is so hot

i agree i love t when women post and talk about catfights

as said before never get in the middle when women want each other. These two had those blouses ripped open and those bras off in a heartbeat. If left to cont would have striiped each other within 3 minutes only way a good catball can start

Thanks for the video link Gmenn. Good fight. Liked the way the younger women delivered a good kick or knee to the olders backside to retaliate for the slap! The younger woman certainly held her own. What film was this from? Looked to me like the younger woman did form a fist a couple of times but mainly it was slapping, kicking and hairpulling. Too bad it was broken up.

Gotta say I agree with Sue5159, women don't just fight with slaps, hairpulling and kicking, they will fight with their fists as well, and always have. If anything though a woman's fight between too equals evenly matched rivals can be (or used to be) wilder than any fight between two guys, as the women often want to make a mess of each other, whilst completing the win. Guys are (or once were) more likely to fight within boxing rules. The other thing is often women don't seem to have the strength to hurt their rival with punches, so again they'll use anything. Though one of the worst things is the slamming of the opponents head repeatedly into the ground, that can do a lot of damage. (At school the girls were banned from wearing earrings, and having their bodies pierced, also nails had to be kept short.)

Though these days even for guys all the 'rules" seem to have gone out the window, especially with people carrying knifes and other concealed weapons and the martial arts training involving kicking, we seem to be getting more violent!S

You are right simon1 the women don't fight now just with slaps, hairpulling and kicking. They fight now like men. And I don't like it. As you can see in the clip I uploaded before and in the clip I attached here the women are fully femenine (skirts, stockings) and fight in a femenine way, pulling hair, rolling on the floor, entwining legs, slapping, scratching, kicking. And they look so sexy at the end with their dishevelled manes and ripped garments. These are the fights I would like to see, not a bad copy of males' fights.

This is from a french movie titled "Ah les belles bacchantes" (1954).

The previous clip is from an italian one titled "I pappagalli" (1955).

This was great! Thanks for sharing. I just wish it was longer. lol.

Seeing those 2 women pulling skirts and bras off and ripping the blouses, along with hair pulling and their stocking clad legs wrapped around, this as truely the ultimate catfight I would love to see.

Even when the they were pulled apart and they tried to kick one another was exciting. Thats how catfights should be in the movies, and irl also.

Yes, catballing, that hissing tangled mass of rolling arms and legs... a staple of movie catfighting in the up through the 70's it seems, westerns in particular.

You hit a point of contention with me in regards to today's movies on that one HB! When did it become "the in thing to do" to choreograph so many female fights with the combatants flying through the air in slow motion kung fu crap? Those "fights" do not look real- they are not fights in my book, just some director or writer taking the easy way out. I know some folks like that style, but not this catballing fan.

.....off the soapbox now and back to watching "Destry Rides Again"  :)

Well I agree with you but the same is true of the male fights!  And "Destry" is one of my all time favs!
