The itv celebrity wrestling programme was broadcast in 2005. It was essentially a family show, aired early evening. Annabel croft (solitaire) was the female winner. She was the archetypal snooty english lady (albeit very attractive), ex professional tennis player. At 39 she was the oldest female but her superior strength from years of being a professional sportswoman prevailed throughout the series in her tussles with younger but very keen foes.
Kate Lawler(the brawler) who was 25 at the time, was a very fit ex big brother babe/tv personality who really went for it in the ringside tussles along with glamour model Leilani Dowding (the vixen) who was also in her mid twenties and in very good shape too.
It was a missed opportunity for a great programme to establish itself, however it was a bit too sanitised and mainstream and it never returned to become an exciting spectacle for catfight/wrestling lovers.
Despite the shackles of the family viewing programme format and the rubbish outfits there were some interesting moments which made you rue the demise of the programme.
The women were well up for the fights and this was also manifested in a spat between Kate and Leilani outside the ring when they nearly came to blows in a heated exchange when returning to their respective changing rooms after filming.
A late night version of this programme is well overdue..............!
