Well Michelle, sadly, there isn't much of a background story between Sadie and I... Just good sports between a lady (me) and a tramp (Sadie)...

But... I have something for you....

You know I am really freeking sorry I asked.....

An innocuous comment by me has caused me nothing but grief......I used to come here to post music I loved and i thought others would love also....and maybe tell a story behind that music....

So i'm done with this....its a shame because it really was a labor of love.....

From the Michelle Archives.....

I make no secret that one of my favorite groups of all time is Maroon 5......and Adam Levine...who can have me just about any damn time he wants me...I would be his slut....yes.....yes I would :)

Since this is almost what I will designate as Maroon 5 week.....as someone I care a lot about dedicated a Maroon 5 song to me yesterday...

My favorite of their's is one called......"This Love"......its from 2004

The song was written by frontman Adam Levine and keyboardist Jesse Carmichael for their debut album "Songs About Jane" (2004). The track is built around a piano-led strut, which is immediately followed by synth percussion, and a repeating guitar sound.  Its very catchy and I love it....

The song's lyrics are based on Levine's break-up with an ex-girlfriend. He revealed that the song was written in the "most emotionally trying time" in his life. He also describes some of the lyrics in the song as sexual (Oh gawd yessss!)   "This Love" was well received by music critics, who noted the track's musicscape. It was released on January 27, 2004, as the second single from "Songs About Jane".

The single entered the top ten on most charts, topping several of Billboard magazine's component charts, including reaching the number one spot on the Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart. The music video was met with controversy, regarding extended intimate scenes between Levine and his then-girlfriend. "This Love" helped Maroon 5 win the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist and was the third most played song of 2004. The song won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 2006 Grammy Awards, and, to date, is one of Maroon 5's most successful songs.

So here we go!.....from 2004.....its Maroon 5.....and....... "This Love".......

This one's for Mckenzie.....we broke up and got back together to this one baby......never again :)
Also.....this is for one of my best friends.......Sadie....its all yours :)

Today I'm listening to GOOD GIRLS DON'T by The Knack, circa 1979.  The Knack were best known for their huge debut single MY SHARONA and have sometimes been listed as a "one-hit wonder", but they actually had half a dozen songs that charted.  Though leader and primary songwriter Doug Fieger and drummer Bruce Gary have now passed away, archival releases from the group continue to the present.  It is interesting to note that their brand of heavy, hooky power pop has in many ways aged better than the synth-heavy groups who succeeded them on the charts.  So whether it's a trip down memory lane or a first-time discovery, I hope you all enjoy the official video for this one.
