Another from the Michelle Archives....

Its from 1984....and Dan Hartman...its called......."I Can Dream About You"

You probably haven't heard the name Dan Hartman a lot....but I promise you've heard this song :)

"I Can Dream About You" is a song performed by Dan Hartman on the soundtrack of the film "Streets of Fire". Originally released in 1984 as a single off Hartman's album "I Can Dream About You", it reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100.  The song was performed by Winston Ford in the movie. In 2006 the song appeared in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
According to Daryl Hall, Hartman had written the song with Hall & Oates in mind, and offered the song to them to record as their own. Hall & Oates declined, citing that they didn't normally record cover songs. Late in their career, however, they issued an album of covers called Our Kind of Soul on which they recorded their own version (with changed lyrics) of Hartman's song. Two music videos accompanied the song. One didn't feature Hartman and mainly featured scenes from the Streets of Fire film with actor Stoney Jackson lip-syncing the song. Another featured Hartman playing a bartender who tries to charm a young lady while scenes from Streets of Fire are playing.

Hall and Oates is one of my favorite groups and I wish many times they would have recorded it originally...with Daryl Hall's vocal range...I think it would have been a smash....although Hartman is amazing in his rendition.

"I Can Dream About You"
No more timing each tear that falls from my eyes
I'm not hiding the remedy to cure this old heart of mine

I can dream about you
If I can't hold you tonight
I can dream about you
You know how to hold me just right

I can dream about you
If I can't hold you tonight
I can dream about you
You know how to hold me just right

Moving sidewalks, I don't see under my feet
Climbing up from down here below
Where the streets see me lonely for you

I can dream about you
If I can't hold you tonight
I can dream about you
You know how to hold me just right

I can dream about you
I'm gonna press my lips against you and hold you tight to me
I can dream about you
You know you got me spellbound what else can it be

Moving sidewalks, I don't see under my feet
Climbing up from the pain in my heart 'cause it's you that I need

I don't understand it
I can't keep my mind off loving you
Ooh, now baby, I'm caught up in the magic I see in you
There's one thing to do

I can dream about you
If I can't hold you tonight
I can dream about you
You know how to hold me just right

I can dream about you
If I can't hold you tonight
I can dream about you
You know how to hold me just right

When you listen to this song.....If you can't imagine thinking about someone you care about who is far away......or dancing with that special someone.....then check your pulse...something is very wrong :)

I love this song.....I think I'll dedicate it to someone very special to me....because I miss her so very much......and you know who you are :)

Enjoy everyone....have a most wonderful and special weekend :)

Good call.  That whole soundtrack is full of good stuff.

The SRV track is killer as well.  I was lucky enough to see him (from the third row!) back in '84 as a surprise act who wasn't even listed on the bill.  Pretty awesome surprise!

From the Michelle Archives....and brand new.....

Its from one of my all time favorites....Lindsey Stirling.......its called....."Minimal Beat"

I love and adore Lindsey.....

Lindsey Stirling tried every way she could think of to get her music heard. She pitched record labels, entered talent competitions in Las Vegas and went on “America’s Got Talent,” and none of it worked. Then the dub-step violinist tried YouTube — and connected with an ever-growing audience. Her YouTube channel has more than 3.5 million subscribers, and her videos have been viewed more than 450 million times.

Putting her music online has literally taken Stirling around the world, as demonstrated in her new video for “Minimal Beat,” which premieres today on Speakeasy. The clip for the winding instrumental song finds Stirling playing in her charmingly expressive, athletic way against backdrops in London, Paris, Moscow, Sydney and other cities, between shots of her clowning with her bandmates backstage, in restaurants and hotel rooms.

“The only way I’d be where I am today is through YouTube,” Stirling told Speakeasy. In fact, “Radioactive,” her video with the a cappella group Pentatonix, won Response of the Year at the inaugural YouTube Music Awards earlier this month.

“Minimal Beat” appears on Stirling’s self-titled 2012 album, which was re-released last month.

Check her out and subscribe to her YouTube channel.....you'll fall in love with her and her music as I have.....I promise....

This one I dedicate to me......and my good friends here.....you know who you are :)

Another from the Michelle Archives....

Its from 1985 and the great Phil Collins.....and its called.... "Don't Lose My Number"

"Don't Lose My Number" is a song by Phil Collins from his third solo album  "No Jacket Required". The single was not released in the UK, though it peaked at #4 in the US during late September 1985. The B-side, "We Said Hello Goodbye" was released as a bonus track on the CD for No Jacket Required.

The song is addressed to someone called "Billy" whom the singer is hoping to find (and hopes Billy still has his number). Collins has said that he actually wrote most of the song during the recordings for his very first album, Face Value.  Collins also states that the lyrics were improvised, and that he himself does not fully understand what they mean.  Stephen Holden of the New York Times also agreed that the lyrics were very "vague, sketching the outlines of a melodrama but withholding the full story".  The single was not released in the UK, but peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts during late September 1985.

Collins did not know what he would use as a video theme for "Don't Lose My Number," so he decided to create a video showing his decision process in selecting a theme for it.   In the actual video, Collins talks to various "directors", who all give him bad ideas for the video. Their suggestions allow Collins to parody several other music videos of the time, including videos by Michael Jackson, David Lee Roth ("California Girls"), Elton John, The Police ("Every Breath You Take"), and The Cars ("You Might Think"), as well as movies such as Mad Max 2 and various samurai movies and Westerns.

I love the pounding beat of this song....the guitar solo in the middle is one of the best ever......and Collins signature vocals are awesome.....I love it!

This was one his most popular songs here in the U.S.   Check it out :)

I dedicate this to my friend Karen...and hope she enjoys it.....see you soon baby :)

A simple one....but one very special to me....its by Sara "Rumer" Joyce.....and its called....."I Believe In You"

Its beautiful....its all I can say.....

Sarah Joyce (born 3 June 1979), better known by her stage name, Rumer, is a Pakistani-born British singer–songwriter.  Her stage name was inspired by the author Rumer Godden.  Rumer's voice has been described by The Guardian and many others as being reminiscent of Karen Carpenter.  Supported by leading music industry figures including Burt Bacharach, Jools Holland and Elton John, Rumer was nominated for two Brit awards on 13 January 2011. She has performed at several festivals such as Glastonbury Festival

n the 2011 UK Asian Music Awards, Rumer was nominated for Best Alternative Act and Best Newcomer  and ended up winning Best Alternative Act.  Rumer also contributed to a memorial concert to film composer, John Barry, which took place on 20 June 2011 at the Royal Albert Hall in London where the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Dame Shirley Bassey, David Arnold, Wynne Evans, trumpeter Derek Watkins and others performed Barry's music.  Rumer performed the John Barry/Hal David song "We Have All The Time In The World" accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Nicholas Dodd.

She recorded the track "I Believe in You" for the end credits to Johnny English Reborn, released in October 2011.

"I Believe In You"

When you're sleeping, I watch you for hours
Feels like reading
Or gazing at stars
Never touch you, no
Just waiting for one to fall to Earth
Brighten up my empty world
'Cause I believe in you
I believe in you
You make it better
You keep on coming through
So much, I don't believe it
But I believe in you
Heroes win
But sometimes they fail
Some people can't believe it
But I need you human anyway
Nothing less
I want my star to fall to Earth
It's where we love; it's where we hurt
'Cause I believe in you
I believe in you
You make it better
You keep on coming through
So much, I don't believe it
But I believe in you
(You make it better, baby)
You make it better, baby
I believe in you
(You make it better, baby)
You make it better
You keep on coming through
So much, I don't believe it
But I believe in you

I'm dedicating this song to those who believe in me.....and two people especially......you know who you are :)

Thank You......the magic does live....it will never ever die :)

Have a great day everyone......in fact.....try and make it even better :)
