For some reason, everyone else's posts seem to show up with a 'Like' button but my own don't.  Is there something I'm not doing, or doing wrong, when I post?

Scrib

Probably to keep us from liking our own comments/posts.

Juggles, you're absolutely right.  I figured that out from talking to a couple other members.

I don't seem to be able to find anything that shows someone's posts on their profile. The old ones made it easy to go back and look at what someone had written, which is something I used extensively when an author I wasn't familiar with wrote a story I liked. Is there another way to get to that information or is it something that's going to be added back in over time?

It should be under the "profile info " tab at the top of someone's page (beside the actions tab) You get an option to Show Posts, including just showing topics they started which is likely more useful for that story hunting.

First back since the revamp here, any idea why my messages from March and on are just gone? I have messages from recently that I can't read yet I got notification in email about them.

The site was reset back to the March 1 database so those messages are gone from the site now.

Profile links in chat should work now.

See here for info on chat log in and what you may have to do to your user name to get into chat  https://www.freecatfights.com/forums/index.php?topic=63968.msg478674#msg478674

Alo we are working on the chat list so please don't do a dozen requests for it. Do try to check any posts the mods/admisn have made so you aren't asking something that was solved already.

First of all, thanks to all the administrators and tech people for all the hard work over the last few weeks.  I know it has to be very frustrating.  This isn't a complaint and I can wait until some of the more urgent things have been resolved but like others have posted, I'm having trouble accessing the chat room because I had a space in my user name.  I have changed that and reset my password but still am unable to get to the chat room.  After changing my username, it now shows up without a space but I still have to use a space when logging onto the site so not sure what I did really worked.  It appears that my "name" has been changed to no space but my true Username still has the space.  This is the error I am getting now:

Error Connecting (Closing link: (a2f450ea@62.129.135.52) [Access denied])

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated but no rush.  I'll be patient and wait my turn.

Thanks again!

Your USER name still is Megan Wrestles. That needs to be changed. Your display name can be anything but for chat the user name having no spaces or periods is crucial. The user name is what one uses to log into FCF as well. And your password will be reset when you do change it.

Mr and Mrs
Rahrah Sarah

and everyone else with spaces and periods in their names. What you need to change to access chat is the USER name. Under account settings, you need to click the word Change and will warn you it will reset your password. Your display name the one below can be anything.

In the capture below my user name and login name for fcf and the chat is nutmeg78. My forum display name is nutmeg. Not sure hiw much clearer we can make this.

Thanks Meg.  I really appreciate your patience and help.  I've tried to read all the posts here as well as research the help area and I am probably missing something but it doesn't appear that a regular member can change their actual user name.  When I go to the Account Settings, the name is changeable but the User Name does not appear to be editable by a regular (non-admin) member.  Also from the Help information, this is what I found related to this:

Modify Profile
Account Settings
Members may modify basic account settings by default. These settings control the member's access to their account, as well as when and how they are visible to other members browsing the forum. The following options are available to be modified:
Name - While the username cannot usually be changed, a member may change their display name at any time. Other members browsing the forum will see display names instead of usernames in most places.

I am probably missing something but for the life of me I can't figure out how I can change the actual Username.

Ah they sure made the admins tuff look like members could.. ok then those who wish to be changed can let myself know and we shall do so. Please line up in an orderly fashion.

LOL.....Thanks Meg.  I'm not sure how you would prefer us to send you the info but if you could change mine to MeganWrestles or meganwrestles if the case might cause a problem that would be great.  No rush.  Whenever you get around to it is fine.  If you want this info sent to you as a message just let me know.  My email is correct for the password reset information.

I love the new site and chat, thanks for helping me getting in on that.

I do however have a problem and a suggestion regarding buddies. The problem is that I have noticed a few buddies of mine being online without it being highlighted in the Users Online section. Not a big problem, just wondering what's up with that.

The suggestion is to add tick-able boxes to the Buddy's list. It's a pain to edit my buddies because the list has grown so long, it would be great to have the option to select a bunch and remove them all at once, like you can do with messages.
