When you put three of anything together randomly, no matter what they are, inevitably they will form some sort of a triangle, however oddly shaped. And if that weren’t random enough, the sides of the triangle will never, ever be equal. Even Isosceles himself couldn’t have done it without putting a whole lot of effort into it. Of the three random points, one is always going to be closer to another than to the third.
And in our little group, the points had names: Erin, Bridgette, and of course, me, Mish. Erin and I were good friends, and then met Bridgette, and as the duo became a trio, our triangle formed. Erin and I remained close; Bridgette and I became close; and Erin and Bridgette? Well, let’s just say there was always some tension there, and either one would have loved it if the other dropped—-or was violently pushed—-from our little triangle.
As for me, well, I didn’t mind it. I had two good friends vying for my attention all the time—-confiding in me, buying me little friendship gifts, picking up checks—-I certainly didn't set it up like this, but I’d be silly not to reap the benefits of their rivalry. They never outright argued or fought—-that would kind of ruin the whole threesome dynamic, but there was always something smoldering there, and when I was bored, I liked to now and then toss the tiniest bit of gasoline onto those glowing embers—-just to see what would happen.
Like today—-we decided to hang out with a few other friends by the pool at one of their country clubs. Seven hot chicks, donned in teeny weeny bikinis, all lounging, drinking, laughing and tanning. Erin to my left, Bridgette to my right, both with a few drinks in them already. The sun is baking down on us, SPF-48 notwithstanding, and I decide to be a little bit wickedly playful. “God,” I moan, “I would be the
slave of anyone who brought me a nice cold mango smoothie.” Pause. “Bridgette, would you mind getting me one when you get a sec, hon?” My eyes, shielded by my RayBans, dart to the side, just to see Erin’s face devolve into a scowl...
The fighters have requested that voting begins 5 days into the poll's 10-day run, so that it can reflect the course of their fight---who's more likely to emerge as the superior fighter?
Bridgette (5'5", 125 lbs)
Erin (5'6", 110 lbs)
