At least 90 percent kindness.   Her animosity toward Cynthia was at a low ebb after the fight and the subsequent medical issue Cynthia had with the ants.  Plus, she may not like Cynthia but she does like Josh.  It is kind of a peace offering to the two of them.   The question is how will Cynthia interpret it--in her eyes is it a peace offering or a taunt?

She could have appended a card saying 'Happy Antsiversary' (which would have put the matter beyond dispute) but there's always next year.

was that sparks at least from Josh when he was talking to Kiva. Maybe he is ready to move on.

Well…Josh is good looking…and he’s a really nice guy…but I don’t think I could be in a relationship with him. His football stories would drive me crazy  ::)

Nah, Kiva's got the hots for her jiujitsu instructor. Can't you tell?

That was brilliant Kiva. You captured the hospital dynamics perfectly (though I’d always put my money on a physiotherapist) and the fights themselves were really well described. I look forward to more from you. Thanks.

I know they're forever driving into walls (putting up everyone's insurance premiums) but, honestly, who'd be a dummy in the States? When they aren't being run down deliberately by pick-ups in the desert https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YnAwnKeSdto, they're being strangled by frustrated ICU nurses.

Lol! I hope readers had no problem following that part of the story. Simulation labs use mannequins (“sims,” but we call them dummies) and other devices to simulate clinical conditions in order to teach nursing students. The dummies might breathe, have beating hearts, blood pressure, pulses, synthetic “blood” circulating, etc. We have one that’s pregnant with a fetus whose heart beats, etc. The doctors have one with a colon! Here’s a good look at a typical nursing simulation lab:  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ac4qapf82VU

So, during a recent trip to the sim lab, I looked at the dummy with pulsing carotid arteries and thought what a perfect way to practice a sleeper choke hold!

Just as well no one came in while you were doing it. Even in a less censorious age, I suspect such behaviour might have been considered … er … disqualifying.

Correct. Finding an ICU nurse in the sim lab in the middle of the night with her arms wrapped around a sim’s neck might raise serious questions  ;)

Finally read through all of these. I think Travel Nurse is my favorite storyline and I like the idea of Robin ravaging Kiva after the fight.

I did like this story,  but I thought if anything was going to drive Kiva to hammer Cynthia, it would be something involving her family.  Maybe picking up her daughter from cheerleading and Cynthia saying something, 'your dad moved on after your mom got all crabby.' Bringing out the crazy in Kiva

That would have worked. We are all momma bears when it comes to our kids.

Fighting over a rose bush might have seemed weak, but I hope readers recognized it went deeper than that. Kiva interpreted Cynthia’s attempt to get her to hand over the roses as an assertion of dominance and bullying and she decided to stand up to her. At least I hope that’s how it came across. The next chapter is in the works with a few new characters.
